Forest/Jungle Divide
Like forests and jungles on Earth, the forests and jungles of the Disc of Agê differ in the canopy cover. The forest side of the Disc has a much denser canopy and as a result, less light from the Disc’s daysource meets the forest floor. The jungle floor receives a lot of light and as a result, has more flora that grows along the ground like grasses, shrubs and vines. Fonlanders sometimes refer to both the forests and the jungles as the bush. The House of Agê straddles the forest jungle divide, and with true North as the pillar to the Lofted Disc, the forests are located on the east and the jungles on the west.
Great Serpent Aida Hwedo
Aida emerged in the overlap between the Discs of Agbe and Agê. She has a very large body, no limbs, but two very large wings that divide her neck from the rest of her body. Many think that she is the largest Great Serpent of the Fonlands, excepting Aido Hwedo who is the base upon which the Fonlands sit. She is the wife of Aido Hwedo and took his last name after the two met in the early days of the Fonlands. The two are believed to be the parents of all the Great Serpents of the Fonlands, though there were seven Great Serpents on the Fonlands when Aida met Aido. Aida learned to speak from Aido and as a result, she was unable to communicate with Fonlanders who were not Great Serpents until she started spending time with the Vodun Agê. Aida breathes water and she wields both Life and Force magic.
Homun Kin
A kin of small-statured Fonlanders who emerged from the Disc before spreading to other Discs. They are said to have helped Agê plant the forests and the jungles. Communities of homun, that includes multiple family units and single adults, are called bunches, and leaders of bunches are known as Leaders of the March, who lead their bunch on the perpetual nomadic trails of the homun. The largest homun bunch in the Fonlands forages in the forests of Agê’s Disc in regular nomadic patterns, and their activity is so significant that their presence can be determined without seeing them but noting the appearance or disappearance of foliage around the forests. There is another substantial bunch of homun on the jungle side of the Disc that provides a similar renewal that the forests receive. The homun have had a similar impact on all the Discs of the Fonlands and the calendar of the Fonlands is based on the nomadic movements of the homun.
House of Agê
An elaborate structure built in the center of the Disc, with half on the forest side and half on the jungle side. The structure has evolved over time from a single large building with a flat roof, into a complex tree house that extends above the lush canopy of the Disc. There are platforms and bridges between buildings made of wood and the House of Agê is actually a city where Agê can sometimes be found. Her seat rests on the roof of this structure that was built as a perch for Great Serpents and she is able to survey all of the jungles and the forests from her seat.
Ọ̀sanyìn
As the Disc began to change from Essence blue to the green of flora, Ọ̀sanyìn emerged from the Disc. The flora loves Ọ̀sanyìn and when he moves through the forests or jungles, even the static flora finds a way to turn in his direction. He has command over flora like the Vodun Agê, but as an Orisha, he doesn’t utilize his powers as Agê uses hers. He is a healer of the flora who can usually be found deep in the forests of the Disc.
