Description: Gu’s first deck reflects his love of battle and all things that support it. The Gu’s First Smiting Deck Set can be used to play the game of War independent of the game of Smiting.  

The 5 Platonic solids, Dice, are called a tetrahedron, hexahedron, octahedron, dodecahedron and icosahedron with 4, 6, 8, 12, and 20 sides respectively.

To play War with this set, the deck contains the correct number of duplicate cards required of each card. The cards should be sorted into Iron/Steel, Enhance, and Exemplar Cards. Each player starts each game with five iron/steel cards.  The deck of exemplar cards is shuffled and dealt clockwise and face down to between 2 and 6 players; the player to the right of the exemplar cards dealer should simultaneously shuffle then deal the deck of enhance cards face down. To start, each player reveals all Enhance cards–iron/steel, totems, and rage–face up in front of them. Players do not reveal or look at their Exemplar cards, they are stacked as a facedown deck in front of them. Players can freely shuffle and cut their deck during the game.

Each round, starting with the player to the dealer’s left, each player reveals the top card from their face-down deck. Each player then rolls the dice indicated by their card’s Battle Score, the player that rolls the highest takes the revealed cards and shuffles them into their facedown deck. If at least two players roll the same for the Battle Score roll, they reveal another card from their facedown deck and roll the dice indicated by the new cards’ Battle Scores. The player with the highest roll collects all revealed cards from the round and shuffles them into their deck. If players roll the same, they flip and roll again until one player wins and collects all cards revealed during the round. 

Iron/Steel and Enhance cards can be played at any time during the game or as indicated on the card. Players can buy, sell or trade totem and rage cards at any time. Players can sell exemplar cards by accepting an offer of any amount of Iron/Steel or a rage or totem card; the buyer takes the card from the top of the seller’s facedown deck and the seller can ask that the deck be shuffled or cut before taking the top card. 

If a player is completely out of exemplar cards, or if no other player is willing to sell cards from their facedown deck, then that player is out of the game and their remaining enhance cards are taken out of the game as well. The winner must take all cards from opponents’ face-down decks, but they are not required to collect all enhance cards in the game to win.
