The Rhasdwiis lead an idyllic existence on their planet that is like a paradise on all habitable lands. Their planet has two stars, one that it revolves on its north-south axis, and as it rotates, another distant star moves along it east to west. The Rhasdwiis call the north-south star Kur-quer (Rhasdwiis for north-south) and the east-west star Fun-phuen (or east-west). The males of this planet are child bearing and identify with Kur-quer, as it is his slow movements through the sky that marks new harvest cycles of the fauna that the Rhasdwiis depend on for nourishment. Fun-phuen is seen as volatile and random, her movements bring increased heat and signal the heat waves that are as aggressive as the Rhasdwiis women. While the women of Rhasdwiis are generally more aggressive than the males, they make for competent rulers of the various factions on the planet and the race has had very few wars in its history. Their technology is not particularly advanced; they live close to the land and they appreciate their commune with nature, but they are capable of space travel that has developed slowly over their long history. This is the story that the Rhasdwiis tell of the origin of their home planet, Wiis, and its two stars:
Wiis, in its infinite wisdom, saw that space was bare and made woman as Fun-phuen to give the emptiness meaning. Fun-phuen enjoyed moving around empty space for a time before she begged Wiis for a companion.
Wiis said, “I will give you Kur-quer, but you must be gentle with him, and do not touch him. He is your companion in intellect only, the union of your bodies will only bring trouble my dear child.”
Fun-phuen agreed and Wiis made Kur-quer who was loving and obedient when Wiis was looking, but when Wiis was not looking, Kur-quer was seductive and tamed the wild movements of Fun-phuen. Unable to resist the temptation of Kur-quer’s body, Fun-phuen touched Kur-quer with her hand, and immediately he became pregnant and soon after gave birth. Wiis was covered in the aftermath, all of the plants and animals that now roam the planet. Wiis was angry and fixed Kur-quer’s position so that he could no longer tempt his favorite child.
But when Wiis slept, Kur-quer called Fun-phuen near and this time, she could not resist the temptation to join genitalia with him. Immediately after, Kun-quer was pregnant again and soon after he gave birth to the first of the Rhasdwiis that walked Wiis.
Again, Wiis was upset and this time fixed Fun-phuen’s position away from Kur-quer, but not so far that they were unable to see one another. It is torture for the two lovers and Wiis slowly circles the most devious of the two, Kur-quer, the man who is secretive and seductive and requires constant surveillance.
