quick to eat all before her

silly rabbit
who believed an old witch
in her scheming
the offer
is one of great temptation
to be above all else
in all
things imagined
above it all
if only

that scurries

that moves skittish across
a ground
and then
even the things that sprout
from a ground
consume
silly Rabbit
this trick is of big consequence
yes Rabbit
is fast as lightning but
everyone is hungrily
staring at
the barren fields she wastes
in white seconds
white Rabbit
is possession, is overindulgence
is a delicious prospect
to the detriment
of all competition that passively quit
while dying
The Red Eagle
Of course you know the Eagle
and the auburn haze of her wake
like a blur when she swoops
she is a mother
estranged from her youths
after near flawless parenting
and her sons can never forget
the auburn slow
burn to the hue
of the scene
just behind
is Eagle mad?
and indiscriminately
finding snacks to stress eat
in someone’s nursery again?
is your best
bet on her taking your child?
in a rampage
or are you judgmental?
can you be honest
to see that even in evil
there burns a clear symbol
meaning to be noticed?

The White Buffalo
Stocky and wide berth
neat in presentation
mean, too, with dreads in her hide;
stark white and
never to be claimed by man
rather to haunt the dreams
of ground-dwellers
and to gradually push them back
circumference as a force field
power too eminent, to impediment
Buffalo might like a companion
every now and then
but regret is her only match
as the ground-dwellers
persist in flailing helplessly away
Buffalo feels worthy of companion
is known to pull lovers close
despite the slow degeneration
those lovers suffer
caught in the greatness of her eminence
she designed herself to radiate from within
she mastered it, to impediment, now regret
hindsight is a bitch but
there was a time when Buffalo was so alone
that she had no choice but to fortify herself
misunderstood by the herd
puzzled by her white coat
white Buffalo is an ailment
characterized by amassed self reassurance
necessary in the void of assurance
from familial influences
that degrades into radioactive ego
