The Story of Bludon, it’s Guardians, and the Mysterious Daemon
Like the planet Earth, the planet Bludon of universe Prime 5 is not located in the same galaxy as Endla. But unlike Earth, Bludon has not always had a strong connection to the Fonlands. Bludon is far enough away from other planets inhabited by the sentient beings of universe Prime 5, that for much of the existence of the sentient Bludonians, they have believed themselves to be alone in the universe. Even after developing advanced technology that allowed them to explore their solar system, they were not able to reach the planets of other sentient civilizations; Bludon is the only planet inhabited by sentient beings in its solar system.
The planet Bludon is dominated by water and the land masses are predominantly islands with swamps, marshes and vernal pools that persist through rainy seasons. The entire planet of Bludon enjoys temperate weather, a consistent range between 65 and 70°F. This is possible because of the extensive network of volcanoes and geothermal springs and lakes that cover the planet.
Bludonians are amphibious with features similar to an Earther turtle. They are humanoid with opposable thumbs on their hands. All five of their fingers and webbed toes have sharp claws that most clip regularly. Bludonians have smooth skin, and their coloring varies between tones of yellow, green and brown. Bludonians do not grow hair and they do not have teeth, but their mouths contain calcium structures that rip and shred the vegetation that they consume; the species is herbivorous. The average height of the general Bludonian population is about six feet tall. Though they have long arms and legs, they are able to fit their entire bodies into the shells on their backs that are complete with a hard plate on their chests. Bludonian clothing is designed to cover exposed limbs outside of the shell; most clothing is accessories like socks, scarves, gloves, etc.
Bludonians that serve as guardians are genetically engineered. Guardians are generally eight feet tall and many use their talons as weapons. Guardians are bred to receive enhancements that allow them to access their ancestral download, known as the Bludonian Super Consciousness. These enhancements are implanted at birth and can only be received by those born with necessary receptors.
The Bludonian Super Consciousness gives guardians access to the collective history of Bludonian culture including martial arts, hunting and tracking, and even war strategy. The Super Consciousness also grants electromagnetic powers that allows guardians to fly and shoot beams of energy. When engaged, the electromagnetism of the Super Consciousness surrounds the body of the guardian in a yellow glow. Once installed, removing the Super Consciousness from a guardian will result in death; the Super Consciousness becomes necessary for their basic biological function.
Bludonians have engineered guardians to combat the mysterious Daemon that have occasionally appeared on the planet for generations. The first appearance of a Daemon almost three millennia ago resulted in the deaths of millions of Bludonians and precipitated a conflict that lasted for a century. To defeat the Daemon, a scientist developed the technique to upload the Super Consciousness to a Bludonian. This technique was deadly and killed hundreds of Bludonians before it was perfected in a clone that was engineered to interface directly with technology. The Bludonian clone successfully defeated the Daemon at the cost of its own life.
Maxx is the Superguardian, a distinction he earned by single-handedly defeating Daemon. He is acknowledged as the strongest of the strongest guardians manufactured on Bludon. He is also the winner of the first ever Dance of Hysteria that was held on the moon of the planet Endla.
