One day, Emma will read the poems of Roque Dalton and a light bulb will flash on, and she will set to work on a triptych painting about movement in art. The panel inspired by her own work will be center and will feature a sprawling and detailed landscape with mountains, a forest, and ocean, a sunset with many colors, and so many small details that viewers will have to move close to spot, and small scenes that play out and force viewers to look all around for the full story. On the panel inspired by Annie will be three, big, overlapping boxes that descend diagonally from the top left corner, and in each box will be a scene depicting the stages of revolution, from an act of self immolation by fire, to visible unrest, to active overthrow. And the panel inspired by Mahmoud will be one very meticulously crafted nude, a man struggling to his feet after a fall, knees bloody and staining the ground underneath him.
