3rd Round Match 1

2. Pultine versus  6. Maxx the Superguardian

DR for Each Participant

Ahdis for Pultine

Kazi Ethrel for Maxx, Superguardian of Bludon

GM: The four remaining participants stand around center court and Hysteria up on the octagon. She gestures for the fighters of the first match to join her on stage, and the others are instantly transported to the stands. Based on Pultine’s last match, everyone is wondering if she will yield to Maxx, who had a very strong showing in his match.

Hysteria: Participants ready?

Maxx: I have to say to the Supreme, you should not yield because of your conversation with the Druinte. I am aware of the concerns of the Mmoatia and I share them. A battle with you will help me prepare for the battle to come, either with Metatron or your daughter. If you are the strongest of the two of us, then you should triumph here.

Pultine: I have pondered this long and hard, Superguardian. I have craved this, a fighting tournament, for millennia and here we all are and I have not fought a single battle in this portion of the competition. I would enjoy facing you for the sport of it. I would like to win this competition so that I can brag about it. But I think that in the spirit of the competition, an All Star must win. Beings of the Fonlands have forever altered the history and trajectory of this realm and its beings and we did so without a care for the lives of this realm.

Maxx: Would you deny me the honor of facing you in battle for this historic occasion?

Pultine: This is a very difficult decision…

Maxx: That can be decided with a clash of our might. You do not need to ring your hands and worry about possibilities. You need only face me and let our clash answer all questions.

Pultine: I don’t…

Maxx: Hysteria, please start the match.

Hysteria: But your opponent is deliberating whether she will forfeit.

Maxx: Does she have unlimited time to make the decision? Does she have the power to derail this entire competition?

Hysteria: She does not.

Pultine: Hysteria, there is no need to rush…

Hysteria: Fight!

GM: Pultine, and frankly most everyone spectating, is surprised that Hysteria starts the match before Pultine makes a decision, but I guess we are in combat.

GM: The DRs, Ahdis and Kazi Ethrel, are rolling to determine the effectiveness of their participants’ attacks as the match unfolds. I will let you both know when to roll, and whether it’s with privilege or not and any bonuses. Both of you, please, 1D20 roll to see who attacks first.

Ahdis: Wait, are we really starting?

Kazi Ethrel: Hysteria didn’t interrupt any other participant when they discussed whether someone intended to forfeit.

GM: I am just as confused as you all are, but when Hysteria says fight, then the match starts. So, both of you give me a roll…

Pultine: Wait! Hysteria, I forfeit the match.

Maxx: But we have already started…

Pultine: Then I yield.

GM: Pultine begins to fly away and Maxx shakes his head with disappointment.

Maxx: You would deny me, Pristine?

Pultine: Not at all. This is just a delay, we will meet again, Superguardian, and you will have your battle. But fate smiles on you in the first ever Dance of Hysteria. Fight well.

Hysteria: The winner is Maxx!

GM: After a very unorthodox start, Maxx advances to the Final. The DRs for the next match seem to be making their way tentatively to the Tower. The participants head to the octagon. Everyone is a little confused, but next up is the second match of the 3rd Round to decide the final match up.
