Game Master: The first match in the octagon was exciting and the second should not disappoint as a follow up. We have the leader of the Archangels versus a Prime 5 All Star, the leader of the planet Oin. They face off on the octagon once the celebration for Coffey has died down.
9. Metatron versus 10. Queen Rowen Dar
Hysteria: Our fourth match up is Metatron versus the Queen Rowen. Participants ready?
Queen Rowen: I am.
Metatron: Let us begin.
Hysteria: Fight!
GM: Hysteria flies away from the octagon. I am here with Whil and Gabriel, the DRs for our participants in this match. Whil, how did you come to be the DR for the Queen Rowen?
Whil: I was asked because many of the All Stars are participating in the Dance and the Queen wanted to choose someone already familiar with the proceedings. I am honored to be here on her behalf.
GM: The All Stars are well represented in the Dance, that is true. Thank you for being here. The stats of both participants has been projected for the audience.

GM: Remember the rules for the use of Divine Essence. We’re deducting based on the Damage dealt by the attack, Metatron will lose a third of the total Damage he deals with Essence attacks. Neither participant has a Third Heart, so that won’t come into play. The Queen Rowen does not wield Divine Essence, she does not have access to it, but her Arcana Mastery is reflected in her attributes. First, I’ll have you both roll your D20s to see who attacks first.
Whil: 8
Gabriel: 18
GM: Metatron does not waste time and he extends a balled fist toward the Queen that sparks white light before a thick streak of white lightning strikes out at her. Gabriel, please roll for Essence Retention with privilege and Whil, roll for Agility, also with privilege.
Whil: 6 and 2
Gabriel: Divine 20 and 18.
GM: With that Divine 20, not only do we have a direct hit, but it has potential to knock the Queen out of the octagon. Gabriel, roll 1D20 and 8D4 for Metatron’s Attack Bonus. The highest possible Damage Metatron can do with this attack is a 52. Let’s say that if he rolls more than half of that, more than 26, the Queen will be knocked to the edge of the octagon and will have to save to avoid falling out completely.
Gabriel: 28.
GM: Wow. Metatron did not come to play. He unleashes a lightning bolt directly at the Queen Rowen that not only takes her by surprise, but hits hard. She takes 28 Damage and the Queen Rowen’s Hit Points are currently 169. Metatron will deduct a third of the Damage, 9. Metaton’s Hit Points are currently 233.
I need you to roll for Resilience, Whil, to see if Coffey can save against Metatron’s attack. You should roll with privilege, but I believe Metatron’s Divine 20, his use of the element of surprise, negates that privilege. So just give me a D20 roll.
Whil: 10
GM: With a 10, the Queen takes the bolt hard at her chest and is thrown back, teetering on the edge of the octagon. Metatron sees this and he presses his attack.
Whil: Does the Queen get a chance to counter?
GM: Judging by her rolls, she is reeling from the blow and Metatron is moving faster than she can collect herself. Metatron unleashes two bolts of lightning from each of his hands as he flies toward the Queen who is standing wobbly close to the edge. Whil, give me another roll with privilege for Resilience to see if the Queen will have the wherewithal to to counter the attack coming at her, or if she is a sitting duck.
Whil: 18 and 15.
GM: The Queen is on her feet and focuses to try and avoid the bolts of lightning striking in her direction. Gabriel, give me a roll for Essence Retention with privilege, and Whil, give me an Agility roll with privilege in opposition. Whoever gets the higher number succeeds.
Whil: 14 and 18
Gabriel: 18 and 8.
GM: The Queen Rowen has a plus 7 on Agility rolls, so that’s 25 to 18. The Queen manages to dodge the lightning. That was two Essence attacks, so Gabriel roll 2D20 plus 8D4 to determine the potential damage for the double lightning attack.
Gabriel: 32.
GM: Metatron will deduct 10 hit points. Metaton’s Hit Points are currently 223.
The Queen rolls away from the lightning that strike out of the octagon and she quickly stands erect, her bulbous head pulsing and her eyes closed. Suddenly, the Queen’s body is replicated around the octagon, one for each side. Metatron drops to the octagon when he sees eight Queens Rowen smirking at him.
Metatron: This must be a mind trick. Only one of them should be able to hit me.
Queens Rowen: That is a fool’s deduction.
GM: All of the Queens speak in unison and they each raise a hand to Metatron as a beam of bright pink energy issues from their palms. Whil, roll Arcana Mastery with privilege to determine the success of each of the Queens’ attacks. Gabriel, roll Agility with privilege and add 14 in opposition to each of the attacks to determine if Metatron manages to dodge any of them.
Whil: The first roll is 8, 7, 9, 1, 6, 8, 18, 7. The second roll is 17, 16, 16, 6, 15, 16, 11, 3.
GM: The Queen’s Arcana Mastery roll is 17, 16, 16, 6, 15, 16, 18, 7
Gabriel: First roll is 4, 11, 17, 15, 19, 16, 20, 18. Second roll is 19, 11, 1, 13, 6, 11, 1, 18
GM: Metatron’s Agility roll in opposition is 19, 11, 17, 15, 19, 16, 20, 18. With a plus 14 that’s 33, 25, 31, 29, 33, 30, 34, 32. All eight of the Queens Rowen miss and Metatron unleashes a powerful energy blast, a circle of electricity radiating from his body in a disc around him and it could potentially strike all eight of the Queens. Gabriel, roll for Essence Retention with privilege, and Whil, roll for Agility with privilege and plus 7.
Whil: 19 and 9
Gabriel: 16 and Divine 20.
GM: Oh man, the dice rolls are crazy this match. With that 19, the Queen got a 26, but with a Divine 20, Metatron’s attack not only hits, but it’s going to threaten to knock the Queen out again.
Gabriel: 27.
GM: Wow. So close. Whil, give me a Resilience roll with privilege to try and save.
Whil: 4 and 7.
GM: Oh, man, that is tough. The Queen doesn’t save. Metatron’s lightning burst strikes all eight of the Queen Rowen Dar copies and all eight fall out of the octagon. The Queen is down and out.
Hysteria: The winner is Metatron!
GM: The Archangels in the stands are cheering on their feet along with the T3 Archangels. The Supreme Mmoatia, the Yumboes, and the Umbatia clap politely. The All Stars are quiet, stunned at the Queen’s loss.
Hysteria: So concludes the 1st Round of the Dance of Hysteria. Round 2 matches will commence shortly.
