Game Master: We are in the rebel bunker on Bromeran. Tracia has just reminded Zazel of the planet Vrwawl, a world that belongs to the United Aerphim Empire that Zazel visited in her youth as an emissary of the Aerphim. Zazel was asked to roll 2d10 for a combined score of at least 15 to go with Tracia to see the current state of Vrwawl. Note: We used 1D10 numbered 1 through 10, and 1D10 numbered 10 through 100 counting by 10. Zazel what was your roll?
Zazel: 53. Completely pointless roll. What is the point of these rolls when you’re obviously manipulating the numbers to your desired outcome?
GM: I hear you Zazel and have I got an Enhanced gaming system for you. You even get to invent special moves and skills that will be the foundation of the magic system since we’re still in beta. Isn’t that exciting?
Zazel: Tracia, take me to Vrwawl so I can see these horrid conditions you’re going on about.
Agiel: Drop me off on Endla on your way. I am not interested in getting my features wet with salt water.
Tracia: Let’s go.
DM: We should roll for MAO. Technically you guys have portal abilities now so you can go where you want.
Parties’ MAO:
Participating Players: Zazel, Agiel, Tracia
Parties: 1
1 – Zazel, Agiel
Unaffiliated – Tracia
Parties’ MAO:
Party 1 1D4 = 3
P1: Zazel 1D4 = 4
P1: Agiel 1D4 = 2
Unaffiliated Players’s MAO:
Tracia 1D4 = 2
MAO: Zazel, Agiel, Tracia
GM: You’re up first Zazel.
Zazel: Shall I create the portal to Vrwawl?
GM: When was the last time you traveled to Vrwawl?
Zazel: Forever ago. I think Earthers were still new then.
GM: Then you can try it, but there is a chance that you will fail.
Zazel: Then I’ll let Tracia do it. I’ll cast Body Fortification, though, to reduce any potential damage to myself.
GM: Roll 1D12 for me, do it twice and tell me both numbers.
Zazel: That’s a 12 and 12.
GM: You get a plus 5 because of your Essence Retention score, so that’s a 17. You cast Body Fortification and your Armor Class increases to 40, but your Essence Retention drops to 26 for three rounds. One more move before it’s Agiel’s turn.
Zazel: Can I hit you for calling me Zaza last time?
GM: Sorry, it would be a waste of effort.
Zazel: Then I’ll cast another spell, Angelic Memo, to send a message to Hysteria. I want her to know where we’re going. I rolled 5 and 7.
GM: So a 7 plus 5 gives you 12, a success.
Zazel: I don’t have to say this out loud to send the message, I think: Hysteria, I’m leaving Bromeran with Tracia. I hope to see you soon, after we return from Vrwawl.
GM: The message is sent successfully. It’s on you Agiel.
Agiel: I cast a portal to Endla. I am aggressively disinterested in whatever is happening on Vrwawl, I can’t even pronounce it. I rolled a 4 and 8. Both of those seem bad. Tell me it’s good enough so I don’t get roped into Zaza’s thing.
GM: With an 8, you successfully create your portal to Endla.
Agiel: Peace out dumbshits! I’ll see you back on Endla, Za.
GM: Agiel departs. It’s on you Tracia.
Tracia: I’ll cast the portal to Vrwawl. I roll a 12 and 14.
GM: 14 plus 7, that’s a 21. Tracia casts light energy from the fingertips of both hands and an oval portal materializes. She walks towards it, then through and Zazel is close behind.
When they emerge on Vrwawl, they are in what can onIy be described as desert. The ground is cracked into jagged puzzle pieces that seem to go on forever in every direction. There are rock formations scattered around the cracked ground, far off mountains, and everything looks dessicated and brown.
Zazel: Your portal didn’t work. GM douche?
GM: Just GM is fine.
Zazel: Did Tracia mess up the portal roll?
GM: She did not.
Tracia: When Vrwawl joined the UAE, it had just a thousand years left of prosperity because the work of the aerphim left the planet in this state.
Zazel: Where’s the water?
Tracia: In the aerphim-made oceans on many worlds of an adjacent star system. To be fair, there are some krogs on these worlds, but the majority, upwards of ninety-five percent of the near 20 billion krognian population that was here on Vrwawl when you came as a child, are dead. They could not live on this planet as the temperature of the waters increased after the aerphim stripped the rhasd crust from the entire sea floor. When it was clear the planet was doomed, the aerphim started to ship the water out of the galaxy and the krogs who resisted, which was most of the krogs on the planet, were slaughtered.
GM: Zazel looks so startled by the view on Vrwawl that she is speechless for a moment.
Zazel: I know this is Vrwawl because of the moons. Agiel and I played the moon race game when we were here, and even though the color of the sky is different, those moons have not changed very much at all.
Tracia: I brought you and Agiel to Bromeran hoping that you two would join the mmoatia in preventing this from happening everywhere in the universe. But what you said was right, I erred by kidnapping you two. You have little reason to trust me. That’s why I let Agiel go home, and why I will say goodbye to you now. You’ve seen what you need to see to ask questions of your father and the other aerphim if you would choose to do so. And you can always find me if you want to discuss anything. I hope with all of myself that you will question. I will use my second move to portal back to our previous location.
Zazel: What’s to stop me from alerting the Aerphim to the rebel location on Bromeran?
Tracia: You really underestimate your mother. How about this, if you really know where the rebel base is, please tell the aerphim.
Zazel: We were on Bromeran.
Tracia: Sure. Goodbye daughter. We will meet again very soon, hopefully under friendlier circumstances.
Zazel: I cast a portal to Endla…no, to Hysteria’s moon. I got a 6 and 7.
GM: That’s a 14 total.
Zazel is off, back to the vistas of Endla.
