All sentient life is connected. The appendages may be different, we may eat different things, and live in different solar systems, but at the end of the day, we’re all one big family.

It’s time to explore the branches of the universal family tree, and today, we present:

Druinte Social Society (Series 2)

E, Eris, Erim [He, His, Him; She, Hers, Her respectively]

– Issue 11 – Sad Reality

A little over twenty years RET ago, a ship left the planet Druont and traveled to the planet Earth using a wormhole that is located near each planet. This ship departed Druont from the city known as Changuzi; they had recently discovered the wormhole and decided to explore it because it was a secret of the MDDS, the government of the largest city of Druont known as Triusia. Among the crew that traveled to Earth was a durine called Daecoo. E was born in the wilds of Druont but came to call Changuzi eris home, and e lived there for many rounts as a social Druinte. E was old when the astronomers of Changuzi discovered and studied the wormhole and they had theories about what would happen if a ship were to fly through it, and Daecoo was eager to see where the wormhole would lead.

When they traveled through it, they discovered the very distant planet known as Earth that had been documented by astronomers of Triusia long ago, but there were no records that anyone had ever traveled to the planet before because of the distance.

When the ship from Changuzi landed on Earth, Daecoo experienced the local environment in a full body spacesuit and he encountered an Earthling child. Daecoo invited the girl onto the ship for observation and the little girl was comforted by the appearance that suit projected to her. The little girl seemed to enjoy her time on their ship and Daecoo suggested that they take her back with them to Druont to see how she would react to the natural environment after being acclimated on the ship.

When the ship arrived back to Druont space, they were surprised to be confronted by the large ship of the MDDS and the little Earthling child was never returned to Earth. The officials of the MDDS argued about what to do with the girl and she lived with Daecoo while they deliberated. When she reached maturity as determined by the biological scientists of the planet, she was presented with the chance to return to her homeworld, but she chose to volunteer as an IP Security Officer with the hope of studying interstellar diplomacy. It was there that she met Whadgaf Jiris and the two helped to train new recruits to the Independent Militia of Oin.

When Representative Eakran returned to the IP, Maria was sent to receive him, and shortly after Maria was aboard his ship, it was attacked by Ointite Mind Snatchers.

Daecoo feared for eris adopted daughter when e saw the news; e had not seen her in person since she left Druont, and e worried that she was caught up in the conflict that escalated quickly at the IP. When the war against the Fhetat was announced, Daecoo was shocked to see that Maria was fighting with forces from the Banned Regions and e worried everyday until it was announced that the dispute had been solved diplomatically.

Daecoo is very aware of current events in the universe since the city of Changuzi was disbanded and the social Druintes were incorporated into mainstream society in Triusia. E’d been working for Falstraq, an openly social Druinte who worked closely with the Lead Scientist of the MDDS, and when e has down time, e is glued to the news transmissions.

Then he receives a call. Falstraq is with the Lead Scientist and Daecoo has been making a brief of the headlines from the news transmissions for Falstraq, when eris personal communicator chirps to life. E activates the holographic monitor and e is so happy to see Maria’s face.

“You are alright!” Daecoo says excitedly.

“I am,” Maria says. “I’m sorry that I didn’t contact you sooner. But it’s over now. I wanted to let you know that I’ll be home soon. I can’t wait to be on our planet home again. It’s been so long since I saw Changuzi, I hope it’s not too different.”

Daecoo doesn’t know how to tell her that Changuzi no longer exists. So e smiles.

“I can’t wait to see you.”
