Issac was in a universe where much of the Earth’s landmasses were covered by gigantic trees and humanity made their lives in the high canopy of the trees. Some lived on the forest floor where clearings existed, but most had elaborate homes and businesses built into the tree trunks high over the ground.

In the darkness of the dense forests, a being of magic known as the Golem existed and thrived by preying on humans who stumbled into the darkness. The dark and dense forest on the ground was filled with many other dangers, like the giant spiders, one of which seized on Issac shortly after had been transported there by his nemesis, the witch Anesu.

As he was being seized by the spider and spin up into a web cocoon, Issac summoned the bright light of the Aje, and the form of his physical body burned yellow-white, melting the webbing, scorching the arms of the spider that released him, and illuminating the darkness for a wide radius. The light of the Aje was a reliable spell on the other Earth because the Aje exists outside of a single universe and it’s magics could be accessed across the multiverse. He would have to use trial and error to determine if the powers of Wazad, or any other source he was familiar with from his existences, existed in that universe.

The bright light of the Aje kept all dangers at bay while Issac concentrated. He was able to identify a considerable amount of magical sources that he was familiar with and he was able to learn of the rites necessary to wield them in that universe. He used the Aje as a nexus point to direct his magics from the universe he inhabited and into the universe of his origin, and because the Aje sensed the danger that Issac encountered, it applied his spells so that he was able to connect mentally to the woman called Kerry who was still holding strong with the circle of refugees in his gymnasium as they held the barrier against Miririo and Rhode, and the pollen of the Ill Nights in the absence of Issac. Before departing the Museum, Issac had instilled knowledge of the magic necessary to maintain the barrier and because of her will, she’d been able to resist all of Anesu’s attacks. Kerry was growing weary, as were the other refugees in their circle, and Issac was happy to add whatever power he could spare to knock Anesu back, and to expand the barrier far enough to rid the neighborhood around the museum of the Ill pollen. Anesu and Rhode were badly injured and retreated.

Once he’d insured the safety of everyone at the Museum, Issac concentrated to pull the magics of Wazad from his universe to form a portal back there, and when he arrived back inside of gymnasium of the Museum of Aphro-Arcana, he smiled at the circle of refugees who were all soundly sleeping, exhausted by the ordeal. They had saved the lives of everyone on the Museum grounds and Issac smiled down at Kerry. She snored loudly, and drool wet her cheek. Issac put a hand to her and gave her enough of his remaining energy to revive her. She was too weak to stand, and Issac knelt by her side.

“I can’t believe we were able to stop those people,” Kerry said. “I could feel how dangerous they were and they were throwing fire…”

“Don’t get worked up,” Issac said to her. “I only woke you so I could thank you sincerely. You helped to save the day today. I couldn’t have done it without you. All of you. Times are dark now, but it won’t last forever and our community will survive because of strong people like you. Go back to sleep now. I will watch over you all.”
