I want to stress that this is not the tale of the first humans to walk the Earth, but it is the tale of the first extraordinary people who pushed humanity to its limits.

Dr. Samuel Davenport, from 1923 Introduction of The First People

The First People have not been verified in the strictest sense; there are no frozen specimens, no fossil record, no ruins or structures that evidence a pre-ancient culture; but that does not mean that it is not true.

Dr. Lynnette Jones, from 1990 Introduction of The First People

The Darker Resurrection

Chapter 1 – It’s Alive!

The PRL Event: Darker Resurrection 1 (Start)

Editor’s note:

We here at PRL Serials have gained access to literature from the Consortium of Human History. Because of the secretive nature of this organization, many of the works featured in this Volume of the serials have been used without permission from the copyright holders. While we do not condone reprinting information without the expressed written and verbal consent of the creator or originator, we have chosen to present excerpts from the book called The First People, and we intend to use other works, like the one that follows. Our choice to do this is a political one. The Consortium of Human History does a disservice to humanity by concealing the information at its disposal, and we have chosen to publish what we have been able to access. We cannot confirm any of the science presented by the Consortium in its various materials, but we know that the influence of the organization is far reaching and presents a startling truth that there is a narrative of human science and biology that circulates among these organizations that counters much of our knowledge of who and what we are.

From the Annals of the Consortium of Human History:

Theory on Life Force or Soul Retrieval

(author name withheld)

If one desires to see a ghost, or spirit, they may actually make it happen by performing very specific actions that I will explain;

The life force of human beings can be described as the source of electrical impulses that animates the human body. This life force, then, can be measured and quantified. I posit that one’s life force vibrates at varying intensities dependent upon stimuli (mood, environment, et al). Our hum or vibration is a physical manifestation of everything that impacts our life force; we must assume that the nature of the stimuli would have to be capable of impacting a body’s physicality such that it alters (intensifies or abates) the intensity of a body’s electrical frequency (anything that could potentially alter a person’s emotions or biological processes regulated involuntarily).

Aside: The Spirit Quantity or SQ that I have also posited is a general approximation of a soul’s numerical value. If the tools required to determine the electrical frequency of a soul are not available, the SQ can be determined as a rough approximation.

This electrical signature is uniquely attuned to the physical body of the soul that originally housed it. The body becomes a unique beacon for the soul, a device specifically tuned to house and broadcast the intentions of the soul it was made for. At death, the body relinquishes its hold on the soul, and the body decomposes almost instantly, ensuring that it will never be able to properly contain the energies of the soul again.

Aside: Entanglement means that the features and state of one thing predicts the features and state of another thing; for instance, if the human body is damaged, the corresponding human soul is aware and affected by said pain. The full extent of this entanglement is not known, limited by our knowledge of what truly constitutes the human soul, but the entanglement of the soul and body is an easy claim to make.

The soul and the body are entangled by their very nature and a fully functioning body will keep its soul close to its physical location. For this reason, I discount every tale of visitation to realms of the afterlife described in religion as mental delusions, dreams of a confused subconscious that is overstimulated by the conscious inactivity of those in a comma or other states of near death that have elicited afterlife experiences.

I posit that the most surefire and direct way to retrieve a soul after death is to revive the body, for the body fully restored will automatically draw the soul back to its location and the soul will be pulled there because that is its most natural and comfortable state of being.

Because the science of man is not capable of fully reviving a human body to its condition before decomposition, then other steps must be taken in order to bring a soul back to the physical realm; steps that we will detail herein…

They say mathematics is a universal language. If the rules of the universe hold true everywhere in the universe, then mathematics is the universal language that describes those rules. Maybe on Druont, there is a biological equivalent, and maybe if that exists, it is the key to resurrection.

The God Tests: “Before Pegraf 7, there were others. There were other scientists in charge of the secret projects commissioned by the Lead Scientist of the MDDS of their time and they are the unsung heroes of Druinte history.”

The Zombie Society is still a thing and it is a part of something bigger. Maria gets the introduction and Dr. Roy Worthington returns to put his organization’s theories to the test.

Carolina Zombie Society (One-Shots): “Maria is beautiful, and she can insert and operate an endoscope to assist a doctor with brain surgery. She can remove the skull flap herself, Eakran had trusted her to do that before she left for Durham, North Carolina, and she has a steady enough hand that Eakran can focus his attention on the view on the screen. She is familiar with stereotactic navigation systems and she had been performing brain biopsies for Eakran for months. She was a natural, or she was persistent.”

It’s a sad end for the mother of Maria Moreno. It all ends here, and the woman meets the end that she deserves, though this will be hard for outside observers to understand.

Saterna (Limited Series): “Isabel is dead now. She had been standing on the rickety front porch of the dilapidated cabin where she has lived for months, and then she collapsed and her body tumbled to the ground, bruising and bleeding along the way. It was a sad end for the woman who had struggled against adversity to become something, to be more than the victim of harsh circumstance. ”

The Brave Chimutengwende is not the only one with strong family ties. Wendy’s hunt for her missing patient continues and she can’t free her on her own. There is help, and she is awesome.

Family Ties (The Brave Chimutengwende Bk. 1): “Aile Lang, current patient of Dr. Thomas Eakran in the basement level of the Institute for Brain Function, has Chinese heritage, but she is also half French, and her mother gave her the name Aile because the girl was born with a swath of dark hair that swept over her head like a wing.”

Alia goes to church and she has special guests. Of course her new Aliarum are there, but so is Yuri. She hopes to confront Laura, but the Alia is in for a big surprise.

Least Possible Future (Amazing Alia, the Alia Bk. *): “‘You live with that nice young man who is taking care of his father’s house,’ Laura continues. She sounds very sweet and gracious, but something about it, maybe the sneer in her eyes, rings very disingenuous. ‘He is such a nice young man. I assumed the two of you were an item. What is your name ma’am?’”

Desperation is back in full force. Find out more about the past that shaped one of the most successful serial killers in US history.

Fusion (Diode Bk. 2): “When he was carted away from the playground in Clay’s neighborhood, Desperation was smiling. He was bloody and his body ached, but he was smiling. He had been bested by Clay, who had been forced to show the full extent of his mysterious powers when Desperation attacked him at the request of Jamar. Desperation is an extraordinary man himself, and the arrest was the first of his criminal career. ”

It’s the PRL Serials Volume IV! This time, it all comes together.
