This week:

Doors close and windows open all the time. Alia is always moving, usually by choice, and sometimes not. Recent events have brought her to a home that she is happy to wake up in.

Least Possible Future (Amazing Alia, the Alia Bk. *): “No medication. It isn’t even a thought to her as she rolls out of bed and goes to the bathroom for a quick shower. When she is done, she dresses and sits at the dining room table with Clay as Ivan portions breakfast on their plates.”

– – –

Wendy is back home after lending a hand during a crisis. Even with all the ghosts, she has a pretty good life that she worked hard for. She deserves to enjoy it.

Family Ties (The Brave Chimutengwende Bk. 1): “Wendy enjoys shutting out the real world for a time and holding up on her property. She lives in a neighborhood that is not quite a cul-de-sac, but it is an affluent community and Wendy has a sizable lawn with a high fence for ample privacy. Her house is beautiful, and her garden is her crowning achievement.”

Recent conflicts largely resolved, one would expect the Clay and Ivan household to settle. But every conflict has consequences and Clay is forced to say a hard goodbye.

Fusion (Diode Bk. 2): “…one thing has become abundantly clear to Brittany; her life with her brother and his lover would not be the life they had become accustomed to and even though she had enjoyed their new life together, it is apparently impossible for them to know what new dangers will emerge in the future to threaten them.”

ANNUALS

Following the run-in with the Red Father, Ivan is struggling. There’s only one person who can help him, and there’s only one person who can keep the two of them from fighting each other.

Diode: “Since the apparent death of the Red Father, Ivan has been speaking his words out of order. He has mostly been expressing himself with one word to avoid the jumble, but this has frustrated Clay who thinks that Ivan isn’t trying hard enough.”

Ever wonder what happened with Detective Paul Young and the corruption in his Knoxville Police Department? What about Sonny, the Avenger who seemingly changed his allegiances? Keep reading to find out.

Old Man Young : “Sonny moved back to his hometown of Winston Salem, North Carolina to live with his mother, who could not have been happier to have him home. He is glad to make her happy, and his first day back at her house, she fussed over him and made him more food than he could eat in one sitting.”

– – –

The last we saw him, he was pestering Old Man Young. Now, he is something else. And he has a knack for making very dangerous friends.

Made in America: “He is Yuri James, a former drug dealer, former apprentice to drug czars who used names that obscured their real selves like masks; simple names as big as they had to seem to be. Yuri is equal parts all of them, even the ones he knew only anecdotally. Yuri burns bright and hot, like Fire, disappears into shadows when necessary, like Darker, and can find his way into anything, like Smoke.”

– – –

Whadgaf is still alive and still struggling to get back to her normal self. But her life is different now, and there are new people. Maybe getting back, is going back, and she should look forward.

Agent Red:  “Not only had she bested the deranged Agent Red and beat him to the Banned Regions, but she had made some new friends and they are enjoying the levity that they can find within the safe zone of the banned regions. ”

– – –

Meet three more mighty Kings of the Fhetat and learn more about the complex cultures they rule.

Fhet Kings: “The Fhetat is not a homogenous culture. There are sixteen distinct sections of the Fhetat that are identified by section number, and they are governed by monarchs who rule their societies as they see fit. While there are Fhetat-wide customs that define the race, such as their fighting competitions, birthing rites and the way they prepare the dead, the sections are very distinct from one another. ”
