Take time from the birds chirping
board the black ferry floating
the dark through serene chaos
screaming like ears dropped
from the cacophony of spring sounds
Take it slowly over gray waves undulating
a gray body in pain, silenced
with stitches on the lips bound tightly
nothing submerged below in the
brimstone brew that chokes and burns
Beautiful to watch
Take it easy on the ferry as the caged siren sings
locked behind bars that she strokes
enticingly as she writhes with words sung
eerily, appealing to watch
as all on board stand before her
She would chew them to bits were she free
But locked away in bars she is a sight
Blow past an island ablaze and divorce sight from sympathy
it should not matter who suffers an ill fate there
their despair from your view is as lovely as
watching a neighbor’s house burn in the snow
bright flames smacking the evening-deep violet sky
Coast on a bleak shore left delightfully desolate
take solace in the knowledge that
all aboard value the peace of quiet
black sand all around spotted with twisted
drift wood like deserving corpses
Coast there
Enjoy the tense detachment from other passengers
As the siren is brought to shore and let loose…
