As a 3X model, Dexxx was a faster and stronger hand to hand combatant than the average R, T, and Q model Bludonian Guardians. As he grew to maturity on Bludon, it was clear that he was an exceptional 3X model and the ministers in charge of the design studied him closely to test the limits of his strength and durability.

X model Guardians were designed to be the most effective Guardians ever created. 1X models are very large and some have the ability to destroy an entire planet with the munitions built into their body. 2X models were designed to be unstoppable fighters who could take on hundreds of enemies at once. 3X models were designed with stealth capabilities that allow them to infiltrate, assimilate and destabilize entire cultures from the inside out. 4X models were created to be hybrids of 2X and 3X models but the result was Guardians who weren’t as strong as the 2X model or as smart as the 3X model. The 3X models are the most intelligent of the Guardian models created on Bludon.

In his young adulthood, Dexxx spent as much time as possible reading books on the porch of the home that the guardian Maxx had been working to stabilize over the deep ocean. It was mostly a floating log cabin at that point, but it served Maxx and Dexxx well as a place to get away from the pressures of protecting Bludon.

“Have you been paying attention to the movement of the cabin?” Maxx asked as he emerged from the open door to the front porch where Dexxx lounged in a hammock that hung from the porch roof.

“It’s not that hard to trace our movements once the sun sets,” Dexxx said, never taking his eyes from his book.

“It is hard getting it back to the tether I made for it so we don’t get lost.” Maxx said.

“We are never lost on Bludon,” Dexxx said, then licked a finger to turn a page.

“Sorry, of course getting lost is easy to remedy, but I don’t want my cabin smashing into jagged coasts and sinking.”

Dexx lay the book on his chest then extended a clawed hand to Maxx.

“Lay with me, my love,” Dexxx said sweetly.

“You’re just trying to shut me up,” Maxx said and he stood close to Dexxx looking at his hand skeptically. “If we get the cabin back to the tether now, I won’t have any reason to bring it up again.”

Dexxx grabbed Maxx and pulled him close to the hammock. He held his book with one hand while he put a hand on Maxx’s cheek. They smiled lovingly at one another.

“You know I like the movement of the cabin when we free float,” Dexxx said. “Besides, we came here to relax and since we’ve been here, all you’ve done is worry over the cabin.”

Maxx kissed Dexxx lovingly.

“You are a true manipulator, love. You are only interested in finishing your book and you were happy that I was distracted until I threatened your peace by asking for help moving the cabin. Fine,” Maxx says he as climbs into the hammock to lay next to Dexxx. “Let’s float, but when we leave, we will tether the cabin.”

“You should have sat this out,” Zacchaeus says. He is as angry as Shini, Pultine, Tracia and Ahdis seem to be and they are standing in front of him in a half circle, watching him with real concern. Shini and Ahdis hold hands and Maxx is distracted by it, he can’t help but be happy for them even if part of him misses the only love he’d ever known.

“Focus up, Superguardian,” Tracia says, snapping her fingers. “We didn’t protest when you followed us here, but we have a moment of respite to address this. Your actions have been extremely reckless and you exposed your friends and colleagues to unimaginable danger, not to mention, you opened a door way…”

“Technically two doorways,” Pultine interjects.

“Two doorways!” Tracia continues. “You opened two doorways to Kútmómɛ of all places! You threatened the very existence of the Fonlands.”

“For that,” Maxx says,  “I sincerely apologize. I had no concept of the gravity of my actions, or even an understanding of the magnitude of the magics at my disposal. But I assure you, that I am not a liability to be here with you all. My judgement was clouded by a lust for revenge and that cloud is lifted.”

“So you’re not trying to kill Owuo anymore?” Shini asks, looking at the awesome weapon on his back that was impossibly large to be held that way.

“I’m not, and I’m sure that I can. Instead of going after him, I came here to help, that has to mean something. And you are all very powerful beings of magic, Zacchaeus, Pultine, Shini, you were with me during my madness, do I still feel like the mad Superguardian I was before? I know you all sense that the Blight Maker, even if it was made with evil intent and is composed of beings of power, it is not corrupting. The constituent parts are not evil like those who forged it and they have accepted me as their champion. I will not let them down.”

Zacchaeus hugs Maxx when he is done and they embrace for a while.

“I thought I lost you,” Zacchaeus says.

“You almost did,” Maxx admits.
