Issue 6, Vol. 5 – August 28, 2025 (Deathgrowth act ii)

Time to Read:

3–5 minutes

The plot, and the Deathgrowth, thickens as the crossover continues. What is Deathgrowth?, I hear you struggling to ask because it is a strange portmanteau. It’s the foreboding doom that only festers with time. It’s mounting casualties in the time after tragedy as survivors sift through the wreckage. It’s an increase in the number of Death Magic users in the Fonlands. There are many ways to use it, so give it a spin if the opportunity arises, though I hope that no one ever has the occasion to use it.

The action continues and you should enjoy it despite the Deathgrowth. Things will get better, we have to believe that. Quick shout out and happy birthday to my older brother, hope you’re doing well and I love you. And today, we present:

Deathgrowth

This week:

Maxx has been through a lot to finally arrive at the destination of the only weapon that will allow him to exact Bludon’s revenge. He is poised to take it and it will change him, the question is, will anyone recognize him if he takes the Blight Maker into his possession?

Codeine Crazy (Âmuk Mini-Tel.): “You have already found death, Superguardian,” the voice said. “You must embrace it if you ever hope to accomplish your goal. I will bathe you in death magic and then you will understand.”

– – –

Detritus has dragged Ariel and the Mmoatia through time for a final faceoff. Unlikely alliances are sealed as Detritus makes her final play with the stolen time travel powers of Ariel.

The Time Eater (The Divine Essence 2nd Tel): “We don’t have forever, you know that the Time Eater is ticking down. Shall we continue to the past? With your help and Ariel’s cooperation, we should be able to achieve our destination much more quickly.”

Issac enjoys an empty Smiting Chamber as the mission to Talj gets underway. They have amassed a truly impressive force to oppose the Pito, but Issac is forced to wait around in the Smiting Chamber until they need him to bring them back to the Fonlands. Good thing there’s still ample drama to keep him entertained in the meantime.

Master’s Log 2100 (The Master of Multiversal Arcana 1st Tel):  “I was getting restless in the Smiting Chamber. The work of assembling forces went smoothly, and they began to enter the universe known as the Talj Junction. Having Yana up in the Meta Chamber was helpful, it seemed she was able to use it like a tow boat for the Smiting Chamber, easily guiding me around to various existences when I was in the mists. When I wasn’t in the mists, though, I was mostly alone in the Smiting Chamber.”

– – –

There is a universe where the Rhasdwiis of the planet Wiis are biological weapons of the Bromeris. In this universe, only three Rhasdwiis females remain and chief among them is femina tenebrous, fury incarnate. The Bromeris manufactured her to be obedient, but you can only contain pure rage for so long.

Smiting Champs: “In the universe that the Smiting Chamber has designated 2VI1, there is a planet known as Bromeran that is populated by the Bromeris, a hyper-intelligent species that is not only the dominant species of the planet, but of the entire Nexus galaxy.”

– – –

Xêvioso is plotting as his time with Legba in the Paradise universe continues. They have sent all the new technology at their disposal to the Fonlands to aid in the mission to Talj, and as they wait for news of the battle, the Vodun lay hands on Ogi.

Divine Power (acɛ 1st Tel): “The Vodun, except for Legba and Xevioso, are in the Meta Chamber where Yana has used the mists to creates projection screens of glowing blue that give different live shots of their forces in the Talj Junction. The five Vodun sit in comfortable chairs as they spectate and each has a large table in front of them with enchanted Smiting Cards representing their forces.”

Anansi is on to the Disc of Sakpata to collect his next trial. He isn’t as familiar with the Disc of Sakpata as he was with the previous ones, but he is Anansi with the quickest wits in the Fonlands.

Star Flower (Cotton-Wood 1st Tel.): “Admittedly, Anansi hadn’t spent considerable time on Sakpata’s Disc and he had no real idea where to find the famed Mmoboro hornets that he had heard of before and admired the structures attributed to them on Agê’s Disc. Once he stood in the rocky mountains, he admired the view around him before he was interrupted by a very faint buzzing noise.”
