Maxx leads his reluctant friends deeper into Kútmómɛ in search of the Blight Maker. There are many obstacles in their way, but Maxx isn’t deterred and his prize seems as eager to be found as he is to find it.

Codeine Crazy (Âmuk Mini-Tel.): “The wraiths of Kútmómɛ will not engage in philosophical debate, they know their metaphysical place, they do not see themselves as the beings that were their source. They know that they are just reserves, leftovers that need a place to exist, aware and thinking but not desiring or longing. The wraiths of Kútmómɛ exist until they do not, they are and then they are not after a long period of time. A wraith expires in its time, it cannot be killed.”

The Death Witch Detritus has a long history in the Fonlands and through her recollection we learn more about the Death Witch Coven. Apparently Detritus knows about the Impending Doom; could the Death Witches be an ally in the fight against it?

The Time Eater (The Divine Essence 2nd Tel): “The Detritus Witch was one of the Tinyalari who died on Ntinyeti long ago to become a Death Witch. She had a different name in her life on Ntinyari, and she, like the other tinyalari who attacked Moon Daisy that day to seize the Soul Amulet, sacrificed that name to become a Death Witch. By sacrificing their names, the beings who would become the Death Witches doomed themselves, for nothing can exist without a name and their bodies became empty vessels that were filled with the power of death, and granted both souls and names by this power.”

Issac steps into the mists of the heptagon in the Smiting Chamber for the first time as the first multiversal team assembled in preparation for the missions to the Talj Junction. Even as preparations commence, there’s always time for some team drama.

Master’s Log 2100 (The Master of Multiversal Arcana 1st Tel):  “You’re a being of arcana,” she explained, “this shouldn’t be extremely foreign to you, but I guarantee you’ve never experienced anything like it before. It is most similar to flying, not the take off, just floating and moving intentionally with your limbs. If you flap your wings in the mists, move your arms or legs, you are sure that you are moving, but it is metaphysical, your body doesn’t actually move.”

There’s a universe where the Halfyn Heir is the greatest hero in existence and he is a champion to all. He’ll be summoned to the Smiting Chamber as the PRL Heroes prepare to face their enemy in the Talj Junction

Smiting Champs: “In the universe that the Smiting Chamber has designated HV33, there is a planet known as Halfyn that has a woodland landscape on all of its habitable continents and it is known for its intense gravity. The Fyns who evolved there are sturdy humanoids with wide shoulders and feet, and strong muscled legs to support their solid stature.”

Xêvisoso and Lêgba are still in Paradise learning from Ogi and sharing intel with the Fonlands. There are many allies to be found in Paradise and Xêvisoso is hoping that after Talj, Paradise will become the next battlefront in the war against Doom.

Divine Power (acɛ 1st Tel): “As a show of commitment to beating the nameless horror, Ogi was doing what it had not dared in a long time, it was looking for the horror that would raze the entirety of the Paradise existence to nothing once it turned its attention to it. But the Vodun brothers inspired a confidence in Ogi that it had not felt in a very long time and it knew that the only hope of stopping the horror existed with the effort the Vodun had mounted from their existence. Ogi wanted to contribute, and it was worth the risk to Paradise.”

Anansi is on to his second trial and he travels to his father’s Disc to reckon with his past and to catch a shapeshifter who promised to rip out Anansi’s throat if he ever saw him again.

Star Flower (Cotton-Wood 1st Tel.): “Anansi isn’t fond of shapeshifters and his previous experience in Twi sealed that fate for him. There was a time in the past when an osebo leopard was going around the Disc with Anansi’s body, and the duplicate was very convincing. The osebo was trying to use Anansi’s reputation as the son of Lêgba to gather luxuries after he was banished from Twi, but Anansi tracked him down. ”
