It’s here! Issue 3 is finally here, and with it comes the Death Witches. Maxx the Superguardian, Jual the Spirit Aziza, and Ariel the Supreme Mmoatia all have encounters with members of the Death Witch Coven that was first introduced in the 2025 Interim Shorts. They are formidable foes and here’s hoping our heros can rise to the occasion. Also, the Smiting Exhibitions continue before they wrap up next issue. The Vodun are finalizing their Smiting Decks and the epic clash between the factions of the Vodun and the Deck of Impending Doom looms large on the horizon. Issac and Alia return to a full house in the Smiting Chamber. Even as plans are made to assist a universe in peril, there is some drama unfolding, thanks in no small part to Owuo who likes to stir up trouble. Even the best teams experience friction sometimes.
Master’s Log 2100 (The Master of Multiversal Arcana 1st Tel): “…we went back to the Smiting Chamber and found Ivan with Clay watching the spectacle that the Smiting Chamber displayed in its blue mists. It was a rare occasion that Yana was not in the mists, she stood spectating next to Owuo. Tracia and Metatron were there as well, along with Maria, also known as Wazad the Transverse since she’d returned from Outer Spacetime.”

Issac and Alia travel to the Disc of Agbe and Alia takes over for a seasick Issac. Plus, Xêvioso and Lêgba have arrived to Paradise Earth to learn more about their dark enemy.
Divine Power (acɛ 1st Tel): ““There are many reasons why it is difficult to locate the origin of the Dark Reflection,” Neu-Brosme 77 of the Ascendant explained to the Vodun Xêvioso and Lêgba, “One reason is because the Dark Reflection is us, the Ascendant, or a copy of us. Or we are a copy of them, or we are both the copy of the group of Ascendant who tried to travel to the past but were replicated across the multiverse. Trying to track the Dark Reflection by its energy signature will lead you to many civilizations like this one.””

The 4Warriors are properly assembled! And they travel back to the Disc of Jo to get their first official assignment.
Smiting Champs: “I can’t believe we did it!” Adofo said excitedly as they stood in voluminous Essence blue clouds. “We did it, Tinyeleti Warrior! We are in possession of an Inkanyamba, one enchanted that should emerge with more power than when it was sealed! This is amazing. and why again, did we risk our very existence for this, Tinyeleti Warrior?”

Maxx and Zacchaeus formed a close bond in their time together on Bludon. But as he descended down his dark path, Maxx had to leave many things behind and not even the love of his friend could keep him from embracing the darkness.
Codeine Crazy (Âmuk Mini-Tel.): “It was shortly after Maxx had seemingly gone missing in the Fonlands, after he had declared his intentions to kill death by any means, and Zaccheus had followed a tip that could have been Maxx, though Zacchaeus hadn’t thought Maxx the type to get involved with magic. Some lepusraj wizards came to the Aziza Mound to ask for help from the Mmoatia, which is an indication of the strangeness of the situation given the history between the mmoatia and the lepusraj that taints relations between the kin to this day. The lepusraj wizards told of a disturbance in the arcana of Age’s Disc, an imbalance of the perfectly balanced powers that comingle to make Age’s Disc possible, that was being caused by an invocation of large amounts of death magic.”

Ariel is strong. She is the daughter of Pultine, and a Supreme Mmoatia in her own right. She won’t be stopped by a little bit of reality manipulation. But can she hope to free herself from the grasp of a Death Witch?
The Time Eater (The Divine Essence 2nd Tel): “You fight it so hard,” Mey says, standing next to Ariel in the cozily decorated hollow where Fonlanders of Age’s Disc came to hear their fortune. “But I have you now, big sister. And with your help, we will reshape the present for good. I am so happy that you rescued me. You not only saved me, but you allowed me to pay it forward. With your help, the 88 we will be a coven again. You will love the coven and they will love you.”

The Spirit Aziza, Jual, takes center stage, and she was present at the birth of the Death Witch Coven that has pestered so many of our heroes. What’s the connection between the Death Witches and the 4Warriors? Anansi and his quest for the stories of Nyame, of course.
