VFS (Vodun Faction Smiting)

Welcome to Volume 5 of the PRL Serials, and we have to say, we are so glad to have you back and to be back. It is a very exciting time here at the PRL; we have a revamped website, the Encyclopedia of the Known Multiverse Volume ∞ has more art and so much more to come, and soon (or soon enough), the Smiting Champs shop will be live and you can have your own set of Smiting Cards to enjoy the favorite pastime of inhabitants of universe Prime 5, Fonlanders, and the Vodun themselves.

And if all of that isn’t exciting enough for you, the Volume 5 story will truly be a rollercoaster of emotions as our heroes organize their efforts against an enigmatic killer of existences. As the Vodun work to assemble an army capable of withstanding the might of their enemy, we’ll explore the history and Discs of the Fonlands through new serials that display the diverse powers of Fonlanders and their unique homes.

Buckle up, dear readers, Volume 5 promises to be a wild ride.

Issac Washington and the other members of the braintrust in the Smiting Chamber are having a very tough go of it. But Issac is the Master of Multiversal Arcana, and his cohorts are Gods and Fonlanders with incredible powers. They are not easily discouraged.

Master’s Log 2100 (The Master of Multiversal Arcana 1st Tel):  “The Vodun lose, the Vodun get angry, then secretly discouraged. But then they redouble their efforts to do it all over again.”

It’s Smiting Exhibition after Smiting Exhibition for the Vodun. They lose and then change it up, but they are tired of losing. It’s time for a break with separate adventures to increase their chances of success!

Divine Power (acɛ 1st Tel): “I can’t believe that it’s over so quickly,” Jo says with a stunned look on her face as she surveys the cards on the grid. “So much time curating this deck and even with the multiversal additions, it was no match for the Doom deck. I can’t believe I failed so easily…”

In the Fonlands, beings of power are not hard to find. This new anthology series features stories of the Fonlanders who left their mark on history, or those who are currently shaping the future. First up is the story of the 4Warriors of the Fondlands, a diverse group who find themselves working together, if they don’t kill each other first.

Smiting Champs: “I should ask you the same, unless it’s true that all executioners are the same, then I won’t bother because I came to know the executioner who sent me here well enough and can’t bare to have to listen to another of you ramble on about duty and justice, or duty to justice. I am Mulweri, brightest of the Tinyeleti and star child on a quest.”

The Superguardian is back, but he is no longer the hero we loved. Maxx is on a dark, mystical quest through the Fonlands to do the impossible and avenge his homeworld in the process. Pultine and Zacchaeus are on the trail, hoping to bring back the friend they knew before he self-destructs.

Codeine Crazy (Âmuk Mini-Tel.): “The guardians of the planet Bludon are defenders of their homeworld in universe Prime 5 where the Fonlands encroach regularly and often, and the Superguardian, Maxx, has always been the strongest among them. Maxx defeated Metatron of the planet Endla during the Arbitration of Hysteria, and Metatron is an iteration of the Vodun Lêgba. ”

Since the 2025 Interim Shorts Period, many of the mmoatia have been asking the same question, What is going on with Ariel? Something strange has been happening, but when her loved ones get too close, they seem to lose sight of the problem. I wonder where Ariel is now.

The Time Eater (The Divine Essence 2nd Tel): “It is 2022 and Ariel is walking on cloud nine. Her face is everywhere, her songs are always issuing from speakers. Her first show at the Third Heaven Music Festival went so perfectly that she is sure it was a dream or hallucination, until she is in a limousine with the legendary producer, Jess Mess who tells her that she is the voice of her generation.”

Get ready, there’s a new kin of Fonlanders making their debut as heros of the PRL Serials with their own Maximum Telling. Before you ask, a Maximum Telling means twelve issues about the legendary Azizas of the Disc of Jo. Obea, the Luminary Aziza, returns as Nyame has an encounter with her son that disrupts her contemplation.

Star Flower (Cotton-Wood 1st Tel.): “Long ago, Nyame, the wise Luminary of the Disc of Jo, was sitting high in the Cotton-Wood tree that she called home. She rested in a rocking chair on the branch that was as thick as a lake is wide around and the surface of the branch was busy with other dwellers of the Disc who called the Cotton-Wood home. As they moved about around her, they would stop to pay their respects to the mother of the trees that sustained them, for Nyame created the first seed that she planted into the surface of the star Damballa that eventually gave rise to all of the flora of Jo’s Disc including the Cotton-Woods and other trees, as well as the star flowers. ”
