What’s your favorite spaceship in sci-fi? One of my favorites is Dr. Thomas Eakran’s shapeshifting ship, the IP standard issue explorer that he used to travel from Druont to Earth through the warp holes that existed near each planet. It was able to land on Earth and become a very nice, modern home in rural Georgia. I think any Star Trek ship is impressive, but I didn’t recognize the gravity of a Starfleet ship until I watched Star Trek Discovery and Strange New Worlds. I’ve never watched it, but I read the ship in Dr. Who, the Tardis, is a sentient old school phone booth that moves through time and space. I only bring it up because I had to create a ship for Maria to navigate Outer Spacetime in this issue and I was looking through lists on the internet of some cool ones. If aliens were to arrive on Earth tomorrow, I wonder which ship theirs would most resemble from our fiction.

On another note, I was really into the Olympics this year. I saw a lot of really engaging competition that made me care in a way I haven’t in a long time. One of the biggest disappointments of these Olympics was Breakdancing and I feel bad for all of the amazing athletes who participated and were overshadowed by one person who has become the face of Breakdancing in the aftermath of the Olympics. I only saw the competition in clips on the internet, but of course the internet was swarmed with videos and parodies of one athlete. Honestly, she danced better than I ever could, but that’s not saying anything at all. After wading through so many videos of bad Breakdancing, I had no energy left for the athletes who performed spectacularly. And that’s it, no more Breaking at the Olympics. It was decided before this year’s games, but it’s sad that the only name we will remember from Breaking’s first Olympics is a white lady who wasn’t that good. Oh well.

Enjoy the Serials! The 2024 Annual Issue is coming soon!

This week:

Node 5 Prime 5 Earth Year 2024

Maxx is in full beast mode as he and the other Guardians continue their battle on the asteroid. Do the Guardians feel remorse or empathy for their enemies when they go âmuk? I didn’t think so, so what’s going on with Maxx?

Like That (Âmuk 1st Tel.): “Maxx pauses and his voice seems unsteady as he continues. ‘Does this end when every Daemon on this asteroid is dead? There are plenty attacking, but there are children here. I can feel them cowering, and I can feel their view of me and the Guardians. We are the monsters who arrived to stop their escape from a different persecution…’”

Zacchaeus and the Needy finally face off with Minyak, and it promises to be an epic clash of arcane beings with similar powers. And no, I’m not setting you up for Max, the writer not the Superguardian, to subvert your expectations for the conflict between the Needy and Minyak. Or am I?

Black&Blue (The Deft Hands of Zacchaeus 1st Tel.): “The Needy extends an arm of his black form that stretches long until his big fist connects with Minyak. Instead of a punch, though, the fist of the Needy sticks to the form of Minyak and Zacchaeus can feel the inundation of Minyak’s consciousness on his own.”

Maria takes off into Outer Spacetime and she has a lovely goddess companion. There are many secrets within the exotic cosmos and Maria is excited to discover them all.

Got the Juice (Wazad of Outer-Spacetime 1st Tel): “Garoa is stunning, and when she is in her presence, Maria has to force herself to look away from her. Oftentimes, Maria stares in awe at the blue tint of her black hair that seems to glitter like the cosmos and when Garoa catches her, she smiles before Maria looks away with embarrassment. Garoa is the Mao Ri that Maria knows the least about because she is so intimidated by her beauty.”

Tracia gets upsetting news from one of her sisters, but it can wait. The mmoatia and the Archangels are determined to help Bludon, but do they see eye to eye on the best way to do that?

B.A.S. (Tracia’s Greatest Hits): “‘Why do you hate my ship?’ Lorv asked as they traveled from the entrance on the outsell to the large command tower from which the ship was navigated. ‘Don’t lie, either, I can feel it every time you arrive here. You look more annoyed with Top than you do about the angels.’”

The saddest Smiting game in history continues as Lêgba flips another card from the Deck of Impending Doom. It’s not looking great for Lêgba’s opponents, or the multiverse for that matter.

Not Like Us (Finding Lêgba 1st Tel.): “‘I feel like we must continue playing,’ Xêvioso said. ‘It is the only means we have to see if these horrible things you have committed to cards can be defeated by any power we have encountered on the multiversal structure.’”

On Prime 5 Earth, Ariel is a powerful mmoatia and thanks to her careless uncle, she’s been roped into a mystery. Her uncle gives all Roys everywhere a bad name.

Multiversal Family Tree : “I know, it’s just…this thing is dangerous. I shouldn’t have read that book, I just couldn’t help myself. Even with all the crazy Fonlands stuff around now, I didn’t think this would be real. I didn’t want to involve Ariel in this, but I didn’t know what else to do.”

It’s the PRL Serials Volume 4! More exciting than a game of Smiting between two Vodun!
