Time to Read:

1–2 minutes

It’s Black History Month! And I think the groundhog saw his shadow, but who the fuck remembers how groundhog day works? Is there more winter or will all the groundhogs rise up to overthrow humanity? Who can keep track?

The January interim short was inspired by Amos Tutuola’s The Palm Wine Drinkard. I highly recommend it if you’ve never read it. Drinkard and My Life in the Bush of Ghosts are two really good fantasy stories in the vein of Gulliver’s Travels and Alice in Wonderland. If you’re a fan of the genre, you should definitely check them out.

I can’t wait to find out what happened to Zacchaeus, Wazad the Wonderful, and the Master of Universal Arcana, but I have a feeling that Zacchaeus will still be looking for Brad Jordan, even if he was blown to bits by the explosion in the Smiting Chamber.

Up next, though, I’m super excited to take you to the planet of Bludon. It’s been a trip immersing myself in Bludonian culture and I must say that the Bludonians are much more than Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle knock-offs. The elite Guardians of Bludon are specially designed and engineered to defend the planet against threats, but their design makes it near impossible for them to participate in everyday Bludonian life. Maxx is the Superguardian, the hero of an entire planet, but no one really knows him despite his celebrity, and the attention he gets after the first ever Dance of Hysteria, makes him uncomfortable when he realizes that he is loved for the very things that he hates about himself. It’s time to get to know the heart that animates the universe’s greatest warrior.

But first, an excerpt from the Manual and Reference of the Fonlands. Coming at you soon, or soon enough.
