Season of the Witch 2

* * *

Let’s get to it, dear readers. The spooky season is drawing to a close and we here at the PRL couldn’t let it pass us by without presenting stories of the season. Last Halloween, Miriro brought the witch moon, and this year, the witches roll deep, drawn to the primordial magics streaking through the firmament. The improbable has happened; can our heroes do anything to stop the witches now that their powers are growing to their peaks? You’ll have to keep reading to find out.

All that, and Wesley Livingston reveals the witchy past of the Livingston family. We hope that you enjoy, dear readers. Enjoy the frights and stay safe, then come back here very soon for more of the best serial fiction on the internet!

Tonight:

Miriro did it! The Witch Moon is high, even in the daylight, and hundreds, maybe thousands, of witches are flocking to the woods where Miriro accomplished the seemingly impossible.

Witch Moon: “Miriro was in pure ecstasy. Her body had never felt so powerful and the energies surging through her felt like warmth and eternity coursing through her every cell. The sickly glow of the first quarter moon bathed her and everything in the clearing even though the sun was rising. Miriro was beautiful in the center of the gathered witches who sparkled and glowed with the magic that filled them all.”

The gang regroups at the Museum of Aphro-Arcana and they try to make a plan to retaliate against the witches. The Needy gives a history lesson about moon magic, and everyone wonders what can be done without the aid of benevolent deities.

Remarkable: “I know that long ago, the moon was the highest peak on Earth, Mount Mashu, home to beings of incredible Arcana said to be born of the Quintessence, also known as the deities of the moon. These beings of Mashu Mountain were complex, not all were hostile to lower life forms, but some were hostile and hungry for power. The most power hungry of them was Tsukuyomi Otoko, who could influence the minds of things, and he rose to power among the beings of Mashu, then sought to rule over all life that was forming on Earth.”

The following presentation is a work of fiction. Though it is based on true stories and accounts, names and dates have been altered to protect the privacy of those involved.

Dialogues with the Witch: “I was very late for a meeting and I zig-zagged through the crowds on the sidewalk. I am a tall man and I was in a city of people with significantly less melanin, so I was trying my best to be polite and to avoid running into anyone, but I was in a hurry and people complained as I shoved through the slow moving tourists who flock to downtown to experience the color change of the foliage in the fall and to drink locally brewed beers and ciders.”
