Vistas of Endla – 9 – The Arch of Hysteria Enhanced Campaign 3

Time to Read:

7–10 minutes

Game Master: One team has been eliminated, but many participants still remain. The T3 Archangels have only two members left and Iaoth, their Game Master, is angry. He has mostly been very quiet as he watches the two remaining T3 Archangels in battle on center court. Tabris is in an intense battle with Maxx, the Superguardian. Tabris is the mightiest of the T3 Archangels and Maxx has been keeping up with him blow for blow.

Kazi Fandral: It was always a coin toss how the champions of this universe would stack up against the might of warriors from the Fonlands. Maxx seems to be very happy to have an opponent he can expend so much energy on without vaporizing them.

Agiel: Tabris is struggling like he is fighting a Mmoatia.

Iaoth: The Bludonians are strong, but I’ve never encountered one this strong, not even other superguardians.

GM: That is because he is the Superguardian. The strongest of the strongest manufactured on Bludon. Bludonians are amphibious with features similar to an Earther turtle. They are humanoid and their average height is eight feet tall. Though they have long arms and legs, they are able to fit their entire bodies into the shells on their backs that are complete with a hard plate on their chests. Bludonians that serve as guardians are genetically engineered from the most desirable traits of the entire population of Bludon and they are implanted with the Bludonian Super Consciousness that gives them access to the collective history of Bludonian culture including martial arts. The Super Consciousness also grants electromagnetic powers that allows guardians to fly and shoot beams of energy.

Maxx: You’ve fought well, angel, but I am done measuring your strength. I have deemed you unfit to be a real challenge to me.

GM: Tabris flies fast at Maxx, yelling his frustrations at the implication of Maxx’s words. Tabris had been giving his all to keep up with Maxx, even burning through the stored Divine Essence in his body to make his muscles stronger, and if Maxx is not bluffing, he has much more left in the tank than Tabris does. Tabris is angry and desperate to put fists on Maxx, and he throws all of his remaining energy into a desperate attack to strike Maxx. But before he reaches him, Aarin flies in and grabs Tabris, flying him away from the fight.

Iaoth: Thank you Aarin! Tabris is too stubborn to admit defeat. Maybe he can catch his breath and survive this thing.

Agiel: You’d better hope Aarin can outmaneuver Maxx. He’s not letting Tabris go so easily.

GM: Maxx’s body is covered in a golden glow when he engages the electromagnetism of the Super Consciousness and he flies after Aarin who maneuvers quickly around the court.

Agiel: Let me know when he catches up to him, Kazi Fandral. How you doing, Za?

Zazel: Things are looking pretty good. We’re moving fast enough to avoid attack and to surprise the slow and easily eliminated.

Empyreon: I see a group to the right huddled under the low bridge.

GM: The majority of the remaining team of Umbatia huddle under the bridge. Umbriel keeps look out while Piir and Firas tend to the wounds that Manon sustained in battle against Cic.

Manon: I can’t keep standing up to avoid getting eliminated. My leg hurts to stand on and I can’t risk flying, I’d be an easy target. I think it’s best to leave the fight to you all.

Firas: Maybe the most chaotic part of the competition is over. Maybe everyone is just hunkering down to the end to save their energy.

Manon: If that’s the case, I don’t want you all to worry about me. Leave me here and go win this for one for the hive.

Umbriel: There’s no use going anywhere. If somebody wanna bring a fight to us, we’ll be ready. And if everybody wanna wait it out, we can do that too.

GM: As soon as she is done with the sentence, Zazel and Empyreon attack from both sides of the bridge simultaneously and in the blink of an eye, Piir and Feras are pushed kicking and screaming to the edge of the court and out of bounds.

Umbriel curses and looks back to Manon who is prone under the bridge and waves with a half smile on her face as she disappears from center court.

Hysteria: Manon of the Umbatia has been prone for ten seconds and is eliminated along with her teammates Piir and Feras.

Sene: You hate to see it.

Umbriel: Where is Lofet?

Sene: Stumbling around. If you stay where you are, he should stumble into you soon if them two fast angels don’t get him.

Agiel: I think your boy is safe for now. Zazel and Empyreon seem to be plotting on bigger prey.

Quabriel: Zazel, I don’t think it’s wise to engage Queen Rowen at all in this Melee, there are too many things in her favor. But the Kazi Ethrel, I am planting mental suggestions that will be too obvious for him not to block if I spring them too soon. If you and Empyreon can fly at him in tandem on my mark, you should be able to intimidate him out of center court.

Empyreon: We copy, Quabriel. Tell us when and where.

GM: Quabriel obscures herself underneath the high bridge using her mental powers of telepathy and she projects a mental picture of Kazi Ethrel’s location to her teammates. The Kazi is very furry, like a humanoid mouse, and he stands guard with the large xaxew known as Cic.

Quabriel: I will detonate my mental suggestion bomb in three, two…

GM: Zazel and Empyreon speed down at Kazi Ethrel who looks up with panic on his face to see the two pairs of wings advancing. In his mind, the Kazi sees a horrible dragon with two sets of wings breathing hellfire that threatens to burn him to ash, and he yells as he runs away from it. Cic is confused and takes a solid punch from Empyreon as Zazel chases Kazi Ethrel out of the ring. Empyreon pushes Cic back, but not for long before the Xaxew unleashes a counter attack that is a barrage of kicks with its eight spider legs. Empyreon blocks to avoid any serious damage, but he is relieved when Zazel rejoins him. Zazel throws her burning embers and Empyreon uses charged fists to pummel individual legs of the Xaxew, but it scurries away before they can do real damage.

Agiel: We finally got one of the All Stars. You two are unstoppable.

Empyreon: We do make a good team.

Agiel: Zaza and Empy!

Empyreon: You just had to ruin it.

Kazi Fandral: Well fought, Agiel.

Agiel: Your guys don’t make it easy. That’s how you do it, Iaoth.

Sariel: Very well done. Let’s see if Jophiel and Raphael can be as successful against the Druintes.

GM: Raphael has a thick body and solidly fills out his armor. He has long, black hair with pronounced curls that bounce when he moves. He is the most peaceful of the archangels and is known as a healer, but he does not shy away from battle. He wields a staff of golden light against God 14, the Lead Shaman of the wild Druintes of Druont, who has mastered many of the Kazi disciplines. God 14 wields a soul staff that is gray and constructed from eis soul energy. E and Raphael are in a fierce battle that raged alongside Jophiel with her light sword and Belfrat 33 who does not wield a weapon, but casts force fields to block and hit eis opponent. There is a quick respite from both battles and the teammates catch their breath alongside each other before reengaging.

Jophiel: This is the most fun I’ve had in a long time.

Raphael: Violence is generally a waste of effort, but for sport, it can be rousing. I noticed your opponent is keeping you at range. Do you have enough energy left to move in quickly? I think even with a force field up, at close range, you could push him out.

Jophiel: I’ll take that under advisement. Your opponent will eliminate you from the competition. You’re not taking this as seriously as they are and it will be your downfall.

Raphael: Are you trying to light a fire under me sister?

Jophiel: Is it enough?

GM: God 14 and Belfrat 33 both attack their opponents at the same time. Jophiel is hit by a forcefield and she rolls off it, hits a boost of Divine Essence that makes her body glow blue for a second and increases her speed so that she becomes a blur, and she smashes both her fists into Belfrat who tumbles out of center court.

Conversely, God 14 manages to smack one of Raphael’s wings hard with his soul staff, grounding Raphael for the rest of their fight. The two fight on the gound and God dispenses with weapons to grapple Raphael. He uses brute force to slam and drag Raphael out of center court.

Sariel: That was entertaining to watch. I’ve never seen Raphael get his hands dirty like that. Too bad it didn’t go in his direction.

Agiel: At least you got Jophiel. You’re not all useless.

GM: After about three quarters of the Melee have elapsed, Metatron begins to descend to center court. By the time he touches down, Tracia has  descended to center court as well. As she lands, Lorv and Pultine land at her side.

Metatron: It is good to see you again after so long.

Tracia: You too, Metatron. The circumstances are chaotic, but invigorating, no?

Metatron: Invigorating is a good way to describe it. I’m excited to finally take part.

Tracia: As am I. Shall we?

Metatron: It would be my honor, your Excellence.
