Hysteria: Thank you all for coming!
Game Master: Hysteria speaks to the gathering of participants on her moon. Most are inside of the vistas and even though everyone is far away from Hysteria in her tower, everyone on the moon hears her voice full and bold in their ears.
Hysteria: As the most powerful beings of this universe, we have the responsibility to ask ourselves if we are being good stewards of that power. Are we using it to make the lives of those weaker than us better? Are we using it to subjugate others and boost our own names? These are questions that we’ve largely been able to answer ourselves because who in the universe would stand to correct the likes of Lorv the Eminent, the Umbatia of the Earther swamp, the Third Sphere Archangels, the spectacularly armored Rhasdwiis? We must be willing to stand to ensure that power like ours is not used without checks. Because it is not our power. It is a gift from the perfect creator, Mawu-Lisa, who made the Fonlands that have imbued this universe with arcana.
Which is why I devised this Arbitration. It is time for us to check ourselves and to chart a righteous path forward. I believe that this Arbitration with the rules I have decided upon is the only way to find that righteous path.
There are as many ideas for a prosperous future as there are sentient beings in the universe and who among us is sure of the correct way forward? Only the deluded among us. The purpose of this battle, this tournament, is not to determine who is right and whose vision of the future is correct. The purpose of the battle is to measure your passion for your vision of the future. Are you willing to die for the chance to decide the role of Fonlanders and their descendants in this universe? The Mmoatia have died and clawed their way back to life. Metatron has given all of himself to found and sustain Endla. The Archangels have protected and allowed for the expansion of the Aerphim Empire to depths of the universe previously unknown. What have you done? What would you do?
To determine who will compete in the first ever Dance of Hysteria, a single elimination tournament, participants must survive the Melee of Hysteria. Participants must enter as a member of a team of no more than 10 and will compete for an hour to eliminate their competition. It is assumed that the ideology of all team members is similar so that participants can fight to support a vision of the future that they agree with and is more likely to prevail in the Dance. Participants will disappear from the ring if they are knocked unconscious, if they are knocked prone and are not impeded from standing for at least ten seconds, if they go out of bounds, if they die, and if they intentionally cause the death of another participant. No weapons can be used, but any powers naturally occuring for participants can be employed. Participants with wings can fly, no tools or inventions can be used by participants to fly, but I will construct a permeable dome over center court. A participant will disappear from center court if they go out of bounds, whether they are forced, go intentionally or unintentionally, and they will appear safely in a vista to spectate the remainder of the competition.
All rules will be strictly enforced by use of my powers.
Game Masters are being chosen for each team and should make their way to the tower. Game Masters will deliver the final roster for their team. They will also serve as the bird’s eye view for the team and can coordinate the team from outside the battle using a psychic link; I will create psychic links for teams if their Game Master is not able.
