Game Master: We’re here on the outermost sphere of the planet Endla, on a prairie vista at the cottage of Jophiel. I’m here with Ariel, Jophiel, and Lorv. The last we saw them, Ariel and Jophiel arrived home to Jophiel’s cottage to discover Lorv inside. Lorv said that she came to Endla despite the risk to herself because she wanted Ariel to come with her. Jophiel refused and sent Ariel to alert authorities. As she was flying to the security arch, Ariel had a crisis of conscience and rolled 2d10 for a combined score of at least 76 to go back to Jophiel’s cottage without alerting authorities; less than 76 she would alert authorities. Note: We used 1D10 numbered 1 through 10, and 1D10 numbered 10 through 100 counting by 10. Ariel, you rolled, what did you get?

Ariel: I got 101. I’m going back to Jophiel’s cottage.

GM: Ok. So, while you fly back to Jophiel’s without alerting security, you level up…

Ariel: What?! I leveled up! I don’t really know what that means.

GM: It means all of your stats increase by one. Your current level is 84, which is the same as your Hit Points. But, after your level up, your character stats look like this:

Ariel: I’m a spellcaster? What does that mean?

GM: It means you have access to special moves, thanks to your training with Jophiel, but you could learn more from another spellcaster or from a mmoatia.

Lorv: Which is why I’m here.

GM: When Ariel arrived back to Jophiel’s cottage, she saw Jophiel in the grass in a three-point stance facing the front porch of the cottage. Lorv is standing on the porch and there is a large hole in the front of the cottage and splintered wood is scattered all around.

Jophiel: Ariel, stay back. Wait for the authorities to arrive.

Ariel: What’s going on?

Lorv: She put hands on me and suffered the consequences.

GM: Lorv begins to descend the stairs of the porch, her wings full at her back, and Jophiel stands upright with a wing extended to protect Ariel.

Jophiel: Stand down, your Eminence, please. The authorities will be here…

Lorv: No one is coming. Tell her, Ariel. You see what they are, what Endla is, and you know that you don’t belong here.

Ariel: How did you know?

Lorv: You are a daughter of Pultine, my sister, which makes us family. I can feel the conflict in your mind, the wonder and the repulsion that has gripped you since you landed on this world. You recognize it, and you are surprised at your aversion to this realization of the heaven you have dreamt of since you absorbed stories of Earther deities and the Earther afterlife.

GM: Ariel looks down at the grass that is higher than her knee. She seems to grapple with Lorv’s assessment of her feelings, and when Jophiel sees the smirk on Lorv’s face as she slowly begins to nod her head up and down while looking at Ariel, Lorv takes a step back and drops her wing. She stares at Ariel who looks with big eyes at Lorv.

Jophiel: You said when you arrived that Endla is almost like heaven. I see that you choose your words deliberately. What is the flaw of this paradise? What luxury has been denied to you that you would allow this stranger to sow doubt in your mind? The Aerphim are not the enemies of this universe. We are divinity and we dwell in paradise, this is perfection. We want the same for every sentient being of the universe. The mmoatia, Lorv, want to prevent that for reasons that are not clear.

Lorv: Your view is so warped that you cannot hear yourself saying horrifying things that are repulsive to any being not made on this world. The aerphim are not divinity. Ariel, I will not see any harm come to you if you come with me. But even if you don’t want to come with me, you must see now that you cannot dwell here much longer before you become the servant of deluded angels. Ask her what use she has for you. I will tell you what the mmoatia want from you. We want to introduce you to your ancient ancester, Pultine of the large flower. We want to help you unlock the powers afforded to one such as yourself so that you can protect your world from Jophiel and her kin who would destroy your world to rebuild it in their image.

Jophiel: Ariel, you know better than any of us that Earth has its problems.

GM: Ariel is mostly wide-eyed still and she stares past Lorv. She is confused, that is obvious. Alright everyone, it’s time to roll MAO.

GM: Lorv, do you want to take any action?

Lorv: I would like to get a response from Ariel. Will she leave Endla with me? Will you come with me?

GM: Ariel, you’ve heard both sides. I’m going to have Lorv and Jophiel roll 1D20 for Charm in opposition to see if their passion moved you at all. Your Eminence.

Lorv: I roll a 13.

GM: Plus 21 for your very high Charm score, so that’s a 34. Jophiel.

Jophiel: 15.

GM: Plus 7 for your charm score, that’s a 22. So Ariel, it seems like Lorv’s words are sinking in and you think about the whole divinity spiel that Jophiel went on before…

Jophiel: It was no spiel, it was the truth.

GM: And you find yourself wanting to hear more of what Lorv has to say.

Ariel: Jophiel, I’m sorry if this feels like a betrayal, I don’t want to make an enemy of you. But I will go with Lorv and then there won’t be any conflict here.

GM: Ariel flies over Jophiel to land near Lorv. Your Eminence, your first move was convincing Ariel to go with you. Because you are strong with the Essence, you get a second move before Jophiel goes.

Lorv: I will create a portal.

GM: First one of the telling so far. Where to?

Lorv: To Earth.

GM: Ariel looks shocked to hear that.

Ariel: The mmoatia are on Earth?

Lorv: We are gathering there to welcome Pultine from cocoon before we return here for Hysteria’s Arbitration. You don’t have to take part, of course, you are new to your wings. But your potential is strong. You are welcome to spectate. You should see Hysteria’s moon.

GM: Roll 1D20 of at least seven. You get two chances at it, take the higher.

Lorv: I got a 4 and a 5. This is ridiculous, I have never had trouble casting portals before. I am a Supreme Aboatia! You should amend your rules so that one as powerful as I, with a Third Heart no less, can easily cast a portal.

GM: With all respect, your Eminence, an Essence Retention score over 42 gets a plus 7 on portal rolls. Jophiel, it’s your move.

Jophiel: I’m going to alert authorities and come back to detain Lorv and Ariel.

GM: Ok. We’ll have you roll to see how fast you make that trip. Roll Agility, 1D20, you get two rolls, take the highest. Tell me the number for each.

Jophiel: That’s a 17, and Divine 20.

GM: Ok, Jophiel books it. She’s off and will be back with reinforcements after your first move Lorv. Ariel, it’s your move.

Ariel: Why is this so tense all of sudden? It wasn’t this tense before. Can I make a portal?

GM: Sorry, you can’t, your Essence Retention and Wisdom scores are not high enough.

Ariel: Then I’m letting Lorv make a portal.

Lorv: 17, bitch!

Ariel: Mmoatia say bitch?

GM: Ariel looks very impressed and amused, but still worried and looking over her shoulder to see if Jophiel is back.

Lorv: We invented bitch. Let’s go.

GM: Lorv stretches out an arm with her palm out and shoots red orange light at a spot in space over the prairie grass. She aims until a red orange oval forms and she flies through with Ariel on her heels.

Jophiel arrives with a dozen armored aerphim guards just as Ariel slips through and the portal closes.

It’s your turn Jophiel.

Jophiel: I am late for a summons. Metatron has called all of the archangels on Endla to the Olympus vista. It seems the Arbitration will begin soon.

GM: Jophiel flies out of the prairie vista with the armed aerphim guards flanking her in a V-formation.

We’ll see Ariel again after a long rest.
