Zazel Rolls: 50
GM: Oh man! Probably the first roll that’s gone against Zazel in this entire game! Zazel is a fighter, I wonder how this is going to go.
“Yield or I will pluck your brother’s wings and smash his face into the ground.”
“Don’t do it Za!” Agiel yells. “I can take care of myself!”
Doubts begin to creep into Zazel’s mind. Tracia is unbelievably strong, much stronger than anyone she has ever faced as head of security on Endla. The pain in her side intensifies and she doesn’t know if she will be able to continue, not with Tracia seemingly unscathed. She watches Agiel struggle and when he lets go of his aspect, that is glittery and yellow white, Tracia strikes him at the base of his neck, stopping his aspect and making his body go limp. Zazel yells with anger, but she falls to one knee.
“Very good, daughter,” Tracia says and she slowly approaches Zazel, then lands with Agiel’s limp body in an arm propping him up. “I am proud of you. You are strong like an aboatia, almost anyway. I see that the aerphim are using their aspects in battle now, there was a time when that was taboo. The aerphim like to think they are better than Fonlanders, that they are an improvement on the creation of the mother-father and the Vodun. The hubris! The aerphim are weak and faulty copies of our brilliance. As my daughter, you can be brilliant, too. But not on Endla, not under the thumb of Lêgba. The Supremes and I have worked for a very long time to arrive at the moment current events are building to. The Supremes will finally do our duty. Fight at my side, daughter, where you belong. You have only realized a fraction of your potential.”
“Will he be ok?” Zazel asks. Her head is down. She refuses to look Tracia in the eyes.
“He is surprisingly delicate considering the aboatia who gave birth to him, but he will be fine. With time, he could become much stronger.”
“Do you think that we will fight for you?” Zazel asks and lifts her head. “Do you think you can convince us to betray our home, the home that Agiel and I built together, for mothers that we’ve never known? Why now after so long?”
“Because I died,” Tracia said. “I had to die to protect the future. You must understand the diabolical plan of Lêgba to understand why I, and the other Supremes, have allowed our children to be indoctrinated with lies to vilify us, and used in a scheme to remake an entire realm just to prove that his vision is more glorious than the mother-father.”
“Endla is a glorious world,” Zazel argues back. “We work to bring that glory to all of the beings of this universe. The aerphim are not selfish like the Fonlanders, we want to share the majesty of the Divine Essence with everyone…”
“You can’t be this naive. Come with me and I will show you what you and your brother have helped to do to this realm.”
Tracia picks up Agiel with both hands, cradling him like a baby, and he seems to nestle against her chest. She turns as a black door appears in the reality of the park setting.
“Follow me, I will show you the fate of Vwrawl.”
Zazel follows Tracia through the black door and they emerge into a large underground bunker like an aircraft hanger with a very high, domed ceiling that covers the wide and long corridor. The place is large enough that it feels empty even though there are groups and individual beings from many worlds scattered around. There are many shade ships and other vehicles in the distance and Tracia walks with Agiel in her arms toward them through the rows of beds along the walls.
“Are you aware of the world known as Vwrawl?” Tracia asks.
“It sounds familiar, but not recent,” Zazel says in a gruff, reluctant tone. She is still nursing pain in her side.
“Right,” Tracia says. She steps onto the moving walkway that will get them to the other end of the bunker much quicker and Zazel hops on as well. “Have you ever been to Vrwawl?”
“I did go, when they became part of the Empire,” Zazel recalled. “Much of the crust of their world is the very precious metal rhasd that we use in the construction of our vistas.”
“It is what makes them so durable against the elements of any world of this realm, correct?” Tracia shifts Agiel in her arms when he begins to fuss, but he is still sound asleep.
“Yes. Worlds like Vrwawl benefit greatly from discoveries of rhasd. Like Wiis, they become important centers of the realm. The Aerphim make these worlds rich beyond their imaginations.”
“Vrwawl does not share the same star cluster as Endla and Wiis, does it?” Tracia asks. “You probably have not seen it in ages.”
“It’s been a while…”
“But you remember the oceans that covered every inch of that world? The regal mothers who presided over the krogs who populated those oceans of Vrwawl in the trillions? You must have been very honorably received there considering your high standing on Endla, you saw the rich and varied history of the krogs who had thrived on their world for a very long time before Endla’s arrival.”
“I was shown respect,” Zazel admits. “There is great wealth and luxury on Vrwawl and it was all on display deep in the oceans. Their respect put me at ease in their underwater civilization.”
“Try your best to conjure your memories from that trip,” Tracia says as they arrive at the aircraft carrier end of the bunker. They approach a ship where winged men and women prep a medium-sized spacecraft for flight. “Remember what Vrwawl was and brace yourself for its present. I’ll have the doctor look at your brother we we are on the ship. If you are coming with me of course. I assumed that your submission in the dome meant that you are now compliant.”
Game Move:
Zazel: Hey, idiot voice guy! Are you going to make me roll to see if I go with her or not? Because I want to see her face when she sees Vrwawl thriving. I want to hear what dumb reasoning she comes up with for why the place is probably doing better than ever. So what do I need to roll?
GM: You really don’t have to be so hostile. Your brother is so much nicer than you.
Zazel: This is why I talk to you like I do. I didn’t ask you about my brother, it’s like you’re simple or something. Tell me the numbers I need to roll. Do you want me to say it more slowly for you?
GM: That won’t be necessary, Zaza…
Zazel: Call me that one more time and I will find a way to rip your throat out.
GM: Zaza, roll 2d10 for a combined score of 15 or more to go with Tracia to Vrwawl.
Tune in next week to find out if Zazel goes to Vrwawl, and if she murders the GM!
