Ariel and Jophiel are getting along much better on Endla than they did on Earth. Ariel is blown away by the sights and the history that Jophiel imparts, but she is super stoked on the changes the Divine Essence makes to her body.

The Divine Essence:  “Ariel’s mind reels. Everything she has witnessed on Endla confirms what Jophiel says. The vast grassland that they dwell has bounds and beyond them are billowing clouds of light blue that resemble the heaven Ariel had been taught to believe in. She even caught sight of winged people walking on top of or flying over the light blue clouds in the distance.”

We learned back in Used that Pultine has believed Tracia to be dead for a very long time. Now, we finally see what Pultine saw that made her believe that Seraphiel could kill a Supreme mmoatia.

Swamp Bitches (Pultine’s Greatest Hits): “Pultine was angry, but the Earth calmed her. Far away from the stress of the politics of the Fonlands, Pultine found peace and she relished it. As she sunbathed in a tree of her favorite Earther swamp, three of her fellow Supremes appeared through the portal underneath the water. Tracia, followed by Ahdis and Lorv, emerged from the water of the swamp and they flew to Pultine’s position on her back on a tree branch. “

The battle between Zazel and Tracia starts now! It’s an epic mother-daughter throwdown complete with hard punches and crazy visual aspects of magical ability the likes of which you won’t find anywhere else.

Vistas of Endla: “Zazel’s face contorts with anger. Her tan skin begins to brighten, like a fire suddenly boils inside of her, and she lets out a roar in the direction of Tracia. A melon-sized ball of fiery, molten rock explodes from her mouth as she roars and Tracia pushes her glittering orb forward to intercept it. There is a loud crack when they collide and a chaos of light and glitter.”

Dae remembers his father this issue, and there is a shocking revelation at the end that you have to read to believe. Dae has been through a lot as he has donned many names to this point of his life, and some of it proved to be all a figment of his imagination. Is it possible that Metion experienced some of the strange things that Dae encountered in his life?

The Trials of Daedalus: “When Metion rolls up in his car and parks on the curb where the pavement walkway from his mother’s house meets the paved sidewalk, Dae’s mother walks to the top of the stairs and crosses her arms. Metion slinks out of his car and up into his tall posture under the streetlight wearing a black business suit with a white button up shirt and red tie like a tongue. He takes the walkway casually, stepping rhythmically, and he gives a half bow to Dae’s mother when he reaches the bottom step of the porch. He wears glasses and his face is a puddle of mud underneath them.”

Lincoln gets the band back together, even if will never truly trust Brandon again. The Morning sets out on their first three-city tour. Here’s hoping Lincoln can keep his mind on the music and not be distracted by other things.

Sun of the Morning: “His relationship with Brandon, even at its most genial or brotherly, was always adversarial. It was their rivalry that fueled their creativity and even though he could be frustrating, Lincoln liked Brandon for the way he expressed his opinions and challenged him. He didn’t recognize the Brandon who called him Linc. The Brandon he knew always said his name with derision like it was a preposterous name for a boy their age to have, he even joked that Lincoln was an old man’s name.”

Sandra and Lucille go way back, but since the two have lived together, Sandra has gotten to know Fo and Mog. They are nice, but they tempt her to return to painful things in her past. Will she hold out, or will her curiosity get the best of her?

Before the Darkness: “He bought you a house out of high school? That man, you so lucky you found a good one. My baby daddy was a mess. Thought he was a drug dealer and even his dumb ass made enough to buy a house with all the money he made, but he died just as broke as the day he was born.”
