Agiel is the only son of Pultine. Pultine carried him on her back during her pregnancy; the skeleton of her wings arched back and curved in the shape of an egg that grew an opaque membrane and filled with a nourishing fluid to nurture Agiel. When he was born, Pultine knelt down as the skeleton of her wings slowly reverted to their natural formation, like large butterfly wings, and the opaque membrane broke, spilling the fluid along with a laughing Agiel who had three pairs of feathered, jet black wings. He was fair skinned and his hair was rough like his mother, but golden like his father’s.
Agiel is a kind of twin. His sister Zazel, was conceived so that her birth would coincide with Agiel’s, and they did indeed emerge into the world at the exact same time on Endla to two different mothers. They share the same father, Metatron, the first angel of the Vodun Lêgba created in universe Prime 5.
Metraton is older than the archangels, and he was used as the template for their creation. Though he was made in Prime 5, some consider him an Fonlander because of his naturally occurring ecstatic gland. His appearance is influenced by Lêgba’s study of the Hafjeris; he has a large head with piercing blue eyes that shine like marbles, his nose is a hard and handsome beak with prominent nostrils above full and soft lips reminiscent of the clouds that dominate most views on Endla, he has a full head of yellow hair that seems to style itself into casual swoops and swirls, and his muscled limbs and chest have light yellow feathers that matched his mighty wings that spread long and wide at his back.
Some consider Metatron to be an iteration of Lêgba and not an angel at all. Many think that Endla was Lêgba’s attempt to make an ally who could rival the power of the communities of mmoatia and yumboes from Agê’s disc. Lêgba has always viewed Agê as an annoyance. She was powerful in her own right and fiercely loyal to Mawu-Lisa, and in accordance with their wishes, she cultivated the mmoatia and yumboes like flowers, nursing them to expert mastery of essence manipulation that rivaled the Vodun themselves. If Agê had her winged army that could frustrate his plans, Legba decided he would create his own. Legba created Metatron just as he created an iteration of himself, but he did not fill the infant vessel of Metatron with himself. Legba wanted to have a true offspring who would grow into his own power as the first Vodun of Prime 5.
When Agiel and Zazel were born, the aerphim were few and they had no collective name; they considered themselves to be the children of Legba, though only Metratron was the true child. They were considered the third sphere of the aerphim, the grandchildren of Legba. The second sphere being the seven sons of Welboas, and the first Metatron. Not only are Agiel and Zazel the first of the third sphere, but the third sphere are the only aerphim born of mmoatia and they are the prize of Legba. Their education was personally overseen by Legba. In their maturity, they controlled much of the administrative state of Endla as its dual Chiefs.

Game Master (GM): Zazel is thinking about the Arch of Aephem Government where she lives with her brother Agiel. She’d let him design it because he is awesome at aesthetic design; not only did he have an eye for room decor, but he could put together awe-inspiring vistas on the spheres of Endla that drew visitors from all around the universe. Vistas on Endla include serene mountainscapes, docile beaches with varieties of sand colors, tranquil prairies with cottages, all constructed on the cloud spheres that create the planet. Thanks to Agiel’s aesthetic and business savvy, the vistas of Endla have become an exclusive and expensive vacation destination that raised more than $500 trillion USD in the most recent fiscal year. The government uses this money to improve the vistas on Endla, and to bring stunning vistas to other planets in the Venerated Aerphim Empire and throughout the universe.
Zazel oversees the defense of Endla as the government liaison to the force of Archangels, and she coordinates the training of delegates to other planets to ensure the security of Aerphim construction. She thinks about the government Arch where she lives with Agiel because she wonders how her captors managed to infiltrate the vista and capture them. An Arch as defined on Endla includes multiple vistas linked by a golden arch that allows visitors to traverse all encompassed vistas. The government Arch is made up of three vistas; one mountainous scene, one prairie scene, and one coastal vista with a rocky cliff and waves crashing against it. Zazel and her brother preside over government buildings on the coastal vista and there is a lot of Aerphim security on each of the vistas.
“We’re always with armed guards,” she says, her words echoing around the room with stone walls. She sits on the floor with her back against a wall, glaring at the heavy door with a rectangle of a window. “They had to be in on this.”
Agiel lies on his back on one of the cotts in the room.
“Or not,” he says with a sigh, “and they will storm the door any minute. Honestly, Zaza, I think this is some sort of security exercise. Stop worrying so much, you ruffle your wings and get your feathers all out of place. And look at your tunic! Get off the floor! We are above this.”
“Stop being naive, little brother…”
“I’m definitely older than you,” Agiel interjects.
“…we are being held prisoner by unknown captors who cover their faces when they bring us food. And who knows if we can trust our security? Or where the hell we are. Did they take us off of Endla? We have to find out.”
“You’re spiraling, Zaza. When you spiral, you usually get violent and mess up your hair.”
Zazel and Agiel both have humanoid features and look more like their mothers with their father’s coloring. Zazel’s skin is darker than Agiel’s, a pale brown that colors her thick hair as well. Her hair is as thick as Agiel’s but so long that it flows down her back to her thighs. Currently, it is balled at the nape of her neck and serves as a pillow against the stone wall. Her wings are folded at her back; both she and Agiel have unique wings among the Aerphim that fold and shed feathers quickly to hide, and expand to regrow feathers just as quickly. They aren’t completely retractable like the mmoatia Pultine.
“Why are you not more worried?” Zazel asks. “Endla is probably experiencing a coup and you’re just hanging out all cool.”
“They feed us, they groom my wings, I’m convinced one of the guards wants to pleasure me, I’m good until things either escalate or you get to the bottom of it. Wake me up when the food comes, it’s that fish from Bromeran.”
A lightbulb goes on for Zazel. The fish was from Bromeran, and it is only traded on that planet and on the vistas of Endla, so they must be on either Bromeran or Endla. Unless, of course, they are in some other location and the fish being served to them is provided by someone who stocked up on food on one of those planets.
“Do we even know how long we’ve been here?” Zazel asks. “We have to get out. When someone comes, I’m attacking them and getting us out of here.”
Agiel sits up on the bed in a flash and stares seriously at his sister.
“Make sure I get my fish first.”
Game Move:
GM: Zazel, you and Agiel talk for a little while longer before your guard comes with food. What do you do when they come?
Zazel: I want to rush them as soon as they come to the door and pull them inside to question them.
GM: What about the fish?
Zazel: Who gives a fuck about the fish? Who are you, Agiel?
GM: Little aggressive, but fair enough. Roll 2d10 for a combined score of at least 25 to attack the next guard that brings food to the room.
Tune in next week to see if a very pushy Zazel attacks her guard.
