Tales from the Multiverse

You’ve made it to the midway point of our 13-week course on Friends and Influential People. Congratulations on your journey so far. We hope the Principles have been helpful and that you will see our course through to the end. The information we provide is good for any universe in which you may find yourself, so you can be confident that wherever you go, you can meet and befriend interesting people.

: : :

Parallel Principle :  Find the familiar in the unfamiliar and make it work for you.

: :

Life on Earth is unique. Even if there is more than one Earth-like planet in the universe, or even if there are other Earths in the multiverse, no two are exactly the same. If you find yourself on some alternate or counter Earth, or some other planet that’s foreign in every way possible, look for something familiar to tether yourself to your new reality. Maybe the beings of this new Earth are not quite human, but there is bound to be something that you can bond over to ingratiate yourself to your potential friends. Always look for common ground. Even the most alien of environments have elements of a home you can recognize. Don’t scare away potential allies by showing too much fear or repulsion.

:

This year’s annual is a trip across the multiverse. You should check out last year’s annual for the first part of the Multiversal Encyclopedia, or just dive in. There’s a lot of annuals and they are oh so entertaining. The fastest hands on any side of the Mississippi are back and Zacchaeus is going to sublime to another universe. I wonder where he’ll end up? Enjoy, dear readers! We will see you soon for Issue 7!

ANNUALS

How many encyclopedias does it take to make a multiversal encyclopedia? It’s not a joke, I’m really wondering. We know at least six. If you come across any others, please let us know.

Encyclopedia of the Known Multiverse Vol. ∞: “One theory that circulates among the many scholars who collaborate in this gargantuan effort is that the multiverse is a living organism. Some speculate that each universe of the multiverse is comparable to a skin cell, and we are a consciousness within that cell that has described the nature of the unfathomable being to which we are but a tiny spec of its constituent matter.”

From Node 5 – The Fonlands – Coffey has been at the Umbatia swamp for a little while now and she is finally ready to use the Divine Essence that has been a dormant part of her body. Lofet is there to guide her, before a strange man appears.

The Divine Essence: “She lay on a blade of grass, her wings extended at her back gently wafting in the passing breeze. Lofet also lay on a blade of grass and they both stared up at the sky that was visible through the canopy of the treetops. There were many stars, and a moon that was almost full.”

From Node 1 – The Dark Universe – Zacchaeus is back! He won his bet against the odd man who turned out to be a Razew, and the odd man is determined to show his gratitude. But before Zacchaeus can slip the bounds of his home universe, the Master of Universal Arcana appears and he is not happy with the Deft Hands.

The Deft Hands of Zacchaeus: “He was nervous. Zacchaeus had dreamed of this day and his mind had run through so many different scenarios of the world he could experience on the other side of the sublime. Sometimes he let himself indulge the possibility that he could find himself on an inhospitable Earth or some other planet, or on some bitter Earth that was hard and murderous, but mostly he indulged the wonderful possibilities.”

From Node 4 – Paradise – The Earth of the fearsome Golem who stalks the darkness, is paradise to some, to most really, from other Earths of the multiverse. Despite the threat of the Golem, Paradise Earth is ideallac, just like the rest of the universe in which it resides.

The Golem: “The Earth of the Paradise universe is blanketed in a lush forest, including the vast oceans that are filled with massive, ancient trees with long roots big enough for people to build towns on top. Over land masses, humanity and other animal species live in the vast forests that cover the continents and they make their homes among the trunks and the canopy or on the floor of the forest that is completely devoid of light in places where the canopy is thickest.”

From Node 2 – Talj Junction – Ali is on a quest to save the universe from a threat that is hell bent on ruling over all sentience. He’s been through a lot, but things will only get more chaotic as the conflict shifts from Earth to the various planets of the cosmos. Can Ali fit in with the interstellar force of the Masters Guard to save the universe from the Bludonian empire? The universe, Talj the Living, hopes that he can.

Amazing Alius and the Masters of the Universe: “Members of the Kazi religion who practice the Sacred Arts take the title Kazi when they begin their quest to amass various masteries, like levitation or teleportation, and demonstrate at least two masteries. To join the Masters Guard, a Kazi must demonstrate all seventy seven masteries. The Elite Masters achieve the seventy seven masteries and then originate a new mastery that has never been performed before.”

From Node 3 – Horrorscape – The horror is pervasive because the Razews have realized a horrible goal, they are poised to conquer the universe and they will turn every sentient civilization into farms to feed their ever expanding population. The horror is the intelligent investation. Even the enemies of the Razews are a horror. If the Poldarks succeed against the Razews, the universe will still cry out in terror.

Razew Supreme: “The Razew homeworld was a planet known as Druont. The species thrived on the planet. They herded the druintes and other animals for food and they grew plants that healed all of their illnesses. The planet Druont was a paradise to the Razew and they thrived over the long evolution of their species. They developed science complex enough to leave Druont and the Razews explored the universe.”

From Node 1 – Simulacrum – The Rebel Max is the Maxwell Roberson of a different Earth. Before human civilization was humbled by the effects of climate change in the 21st and a half century, the Rebel Max was just a man inspired by history to change things.

Rebel Max in the 21st and a Half Century: “The Rebel got the name at the end of the 20th Century. Then, the world was familiar. It was human civilization as humans had become accustomed, the realization of thousands of years of evolution both physical and emotional. Technology made the modern day convenient for those with money to afford it, and the great disparities between the rich and the poor that would disappear by the middle of the next century were at their pinnacle.”

From Ladoga-verse – The tragic story continues as Tamarvan learns about the death of a friend.

A Misguided Solution:  “Esther told Tamarvan  everything the police had told her and he stood in the living room of his home in shock that his friend was missing; Yusef who got the paper for Mrs. Jenkins every morning because she used a walker in her old age, and who would volunteer as a tutor at the community center in the late spring to help younger students prepare for the end of year exams. He had a young following of black fifth graders who watched Dragon Ball Z on his suggestion because of the nobility that Goku represented as a man of power who used it for the preservation of life.”
