Hello, hello! Welcome back to the continuation of the best serial fiction on the internet. We’re glad you’re here.

Did you know that an enormous dust cloud from the Sahara desert on the African continent is currently calming weather patterns in the Atlantic ocean? If not for this cloud, there would be tropical storms and hurricanes churning because of all the heat and energy there – a large amount of energy that is likely attributable in some way to climate change. So, as a resident of the southeast US on the North American continent, I’d like to extend a thank you to the motherland for the temporary reprieve from the hurricane season. It is much appreciated.

Enjoy the serials!

This week:

Leeland is full of surprises. As he confronts a Moon Beast, we learn what Leeland really thinks of his heritage and it’s not as ignorant as I expected.

The Black Dream Cycle: “I am the model human man. The very same denizens who fear you, look upon me with wonder. Why, I would say that I am on equal footing with your kind. I see now that Scorched Man is your name for what I am, a black man, an American of African descent, and we are feared in my world just like you.”

Humanity should be proud of its accomplishments as an animal of this chaotic universe. We have tamed many of the elements, to varying degrees, and among those elements is electricity. I should mention all the horrible things humans have done as well, we’ve done some things, but this is a celebration of electricity.

Electricity Sonnets: “We harness the white light that streaks from clouds…”

The song is changing, and so is the scene. The shuffle could take you anywhere. Relax and go along. Remember that it is all a dream.

Shuffle: “One weekend, he was at a party at his cousin’s house and as Telford stood in the backyard of his cousin’s two story home that was in a nice cul-de-sac, he looked at the extravagance of the event with envy.”

– – –

I feel for Wes. I know that he’s writing in past-tense, so at least we know he survived it, but I don’t know what I would do in his situation.

Selections from Wes E.L.’s Dream Journal: “The month that Valeria had forced on me to consider the baby question was almost up by that point. I had a week left, and I sat Valeria down one evening to explain my new perspective.”

We all know grief, it is unavoidable. Dr. Geoffrey is a pro at it and he’s determined to help his patients, who are all struggling with the extremely difficult grief that results from the loss of family.

The House of Sorrows:  “I’m excited to start today and I hope you all know that this is a safe space. We can all share freely, and we should if any if this will be an effective use of our time. To get the ball rolling, I wanted to share a little about myself. I want you all to know that I understand, I know what it’s like to lose everyone that you love and what it means to feel truly alone in the world.”

– – –

The V.I.V. summit moves from night to day and the dreams continue as more of them eat the rarebit. And they go to a lighthouse? I want to go to a lighthouse.

Welsh Rarebit: “That dream that Angie told us about,” Gabby explained, “it’s all I can think about now and I ate so much of that cheese toast. One more glass of this should settle my nerves and I’ll probably pass out here on the couch.”
