Silas has been to Hell and back, and it seems like his ordeal is at an end. He gets to enjoy his family and his neighbors and he learns that darkness does not last forever. But neither do celebrations. It’s the end of Chapter 2!

Silas in Hell: “When Silas wakes up the day after Tyler returns to himself, he knows that the world is different.”

Bravery and insanity are often confused. Insanity is doing the same thing expecting different results. Bravery is taking action despite the guarantee of a bad outcome to make a point. The two concepts have little in common. The heroes of our story demonstrate real bravery.

The Jellybean Counters: “Rosey looks at Theo with admiration. After the Halloween sermon ended on the church lawns, Theo called a meeting of his civics class and they sat in the large main room of the church, occupying the first two pews. Theo stands before them where the preacher usually stands, and his cousin Zeke is close by with his arms crossed and a mean look on his face.”
