Because the Ascendant population will be female, they will not worry about unwanted pregnancy, and in fact, the 77 will decide which members will procreate with the very small population of males, known as the 100,000, who father all children on the planet and live secluded lives under the close watch of the 77.

The men of the civilization known as the Ascendant live deep within the planet Top, that will exist very far into the future of the universe.
Their homes will exist below ground and no man will see the surface of Top in a mega-rount. The conditions of the underground homes will be so comfortable, though, that no man will express curiosity about the surface. The underground environment will be a microcosm of the surface layer and the men will easily forget that their sky is artificial because there will also be an artificial atmosphere that allows for rain and wind. There will even be enough room to fly and that will be their only mode of transportation.
The men will look like the females of their species, but they will be shorter by a foot with much smaller horns. Their wings will generally be bigger than females; in the history of the Ascendant, the males will be protectors of the young with the ability to quickly evade danger. They will also evolve to subsist on much less food than their female counterparts who carry children even as they continue their normal duties.
The modern role of men in Ascendant society will be derived from the reality that females will be more durable and capable of surviving the harsh conditions created on Top by the oscillation of the planet through different physical realities. Even despite the protections afforded by the very sturdy outer-shell of the planet, the Ascendant will be bombarded by energies of non-native universes and by the warping and distortion of their own energies that the females will be able to acclimate to much better than the males who will benefit from the extra layers of protection provided by living underground.
There will be about 100,000 Ascendant males, though this is a rough estimate because the sex of a young Ascendant is difficult to determine until they grow horns and then fully develop their genitalia shortly after when they reach puberty. All children will live underground with males until their sex is determined and females will have the option of joining other females on the surface. The majority of Ascendant, about 100 to 1, will be born female and males will be very closely guarded to ensure their health and longevity; they will typically have triple the lifespan of their female counterparts.
There will generally be harmony amongst the men who will organize similar to their female counterparts on the surface to complete vital planet-sustaining operations in population groups that will specialize to expert result. Serious disputes will be decided by the 77 and the 100,000 will respect their word above everything else because they will keep them safe for untold time.
