All sentient life is connected. The appendages may be different, we may eat different things, and live in different solar systems, but at the end of the day, we’re all one big family.

It’s time to explore the branches of the universal family tree, and today, we present:

– Issue 4 – Earth Delegation

The 7 meet in the Quinspace Antarctica that is very active with Quinspace beings who find the distance from A-space beings of Earth pleasant. It contains a sort of Quinspace welcome station and there are always free pterodactyls waiting to give rides around the planet. It is frequented by all types of Quinspace beings; Anansi derived spiders, spiders derived from his siblings, rhino-type beings that are descended from the First Wave cat/dog conjoined being, and any other being that found its way to Earth and learned to call it home. The 7 meet there because it is a central point to their scattered locations around the planet.

The 7 met recently at the Tournament of Champions that is held regularly at the Quinspace North Pole on Earth. The Tournaments are organized all across the universe and winners of local contests, such as the one held on the Quinspace North Pole, advance to further rounds of the Tournament with the chance to become the Champion of the Universe. The rules are fairly simple; two combatants enter a hexagonal ring and they can do battle by any means until one hits the ground unconscious or surrenders. The purpose is not to kill the opponent, just to demonstrate fighting prowess and all beings of the Quinspace either take part or follow their local Tournaments as their entertainment.

Ali-yel 134, the member of the 7 who provided mission reports to command on Pluto, had assembled the delegates for the Tournament and they enjoyed a full day of rousing battles. They were among the crowd as a T-Rex type being was easily beaten by a bear type that was half its size. Ali-yel had studied the Ascendant War from the start and though she was grateful that the bloodiest days of the war were over, she wished she could have experienced the thrill of the battles. The war was a secret one now, bending the minds of beings and shaping their preoccupations from the infancy of their development in order to harness what they would become. Ali-yel had seen her share of battles though, it is why she took the assignment on Earth because of the general hostility that the Quinspace beings display toward the Ascendant.

After the fights, the 7 sat on a barren tundra that was not so barren in the Quinspace. It was like a beach resort and many of the 7 cursed Ali-yel for choosing the spot to converse.

“I love the beach! It’s so nice this time of year. But really, I’m hoping the setting will make the reality easier to consume. It is almost time. It is coming soon and we must be ready. We can’t forget the Recommendation, we must remain invisible or the actions will lead to an unstable future. We will want to take direct action as events unfold in the near future, but we must trust the targets.”

Ali-yel reviewed the coming future, the expected locations and influence that each member was to have, and by the time she was done, the beach was practically empty.

“We have a part to play and we must play it or the future is doomed.” Ali-yel said it jokingly and everyone laughed, but Ali-yel had sacrificed a lot to the Recommendation and if her team failed to usher the A-space beings through the coming turmoil, then the Ascendant could be wiped from the future completely.

They were grave stakes, but Ali-yel was up for it. She had no choice in the matter.
