The universe is expanding and as such, there is a naturally occurring repulsive force. The big bang sent everything out relative to the source and as such, everything is repulsed from that starting point.
The repulsive force of the universe is a feature of the existence therein. Time appears to be linear because of the repulsive force, it creates the starting point from which a beginning can be measured. It ensures that functional systems, like solar systems and galaxies, can form in the space and time available.
