Encyclopedia of the Known Universe Vol I

PREFACE

The purpose of this Encyclopedia of the Known Universe is to counter the narrative perpetuated by the Consortium of Human History. It is an important duty that all contributors to this Encyclopedia understood well when deciding to take part.

The Consortium has effectively weaponized the historical narrative to situate Earth’s humanity alongside the great civilizations of the known universe, to what end is unclear. We here at the EotKU assume that this goal of the Consortium is mostly superficial with potentially devastating consequences.

The Consortium was founded on Earth as an entity that propagated misguided ideas about the worth and purpose of humanity, ideas which contributed to both wars and genocides. While it is hard to discount the vast amount of information that they have managed to verify in their secret publications – the EotKU owes a great debt to that information – the motives of this Earthling organization must be considered.

In order to give characterization of the type of organization that the Consortium has proven itself to be, let me recount the pains that EotKU contributors have been forced to endure at the hands of the Consortium:

When Phyllis Wheatly was granted her freedom, she lived with her husband until he was imprisoned for debt. Among the works that she had hoped to publish after gaining her freedom was an apparent praise of the Sun Goddess that acted as her muse and the muse for all creative endeavors of humanity. This was viewed as a slight by the Consortium who had attempted to co-opt the achievements of the extraordinary former slave who demonstrated proficiency with the English language on par with whites. A consortium member who met with Wheatly suspected First People ancestry because of her fair skin and had hoped to use her as a symbol of the purifying effects that first people lineage could afford, capable of suppressing the degenerate Negro strain and it’s deleterious effects. Wheatly was not privy to any of the Consortium’s motivations but rejected association with the man because she did not feel comfortable with him and he insisted that she thank whatever Providence had granted her the ancestry that she enjoyed. Wheatly rejected this and her poetry was meant to inspire everyone to find inspiration and beauty in the world around them, it was the only true freedom that existed. Insinged by her egalitarian view, the Consortium directly caused the imprisonment of Wheatly’s husband by compounding his debt, and left her to raise a baby on her own. She struggled to provide for herself, but the Consortium knows all too well how to cripple powerful adversaries to its worldview. Wheatly had proven herself capable of stirring the emotions of her captors, people who did not acknowledge her humanity, with words and this could have been beneficial to spreading the lies and misinformation. As the target of the Consortium, she also gained allies, other early contributors to the EotKU, who were sadly unable to end her suffering, but took the truths in her work for what they were; essential knowledge of the workings of the universe. Wheatly had, whether knowingly or not, given her readers access to rituals that would allow them to transcend their current suffering, to tap into the sweet voice of the universal muse who craved the input of life in all of its forms, to know it’s machinations, to understand all of the varied possibilities. Unknowingly or not.

Jose Arcadio Segundo, who studied the works and notes of Melquiades, was tortured by his mission to translate the nearly indecipherable code that Melquaides used when transcribing the secrets of the universe. Melquaides was a member of the Consortium and used the knowledge he obtained there to trap a town in present day Latin America in murder and chaos for a hundred years. Arcadio Segundo felt that the key to understanding Melquaides’ hold on his family and his community was deciphering the writings where Melquaides had indeed recorded in coded detail the hold that he maintained on the people. His work was essentially an experiment commissioned by the Consortium to test the abilities of the descendents of the First People. Melquaides was the first of many men that worked to further the aims and knowledge of the Consortium despite any negative consequences to communities. This type of disregard for human life is a staple of the Consortium and many of its member organizations that has included the Catholic Church (with its abysmal record of pervasive and organized child sex abuse) and Nazis. Arcadio Segundo worked to end the subjugation of the banana workers at the hands of their employers, to disastrous result. He is the only person who remembered the horrible massacre, and in an attempt to bring the type of enlightenment that Melquaides sometimes brought to the people, he dedicated himself to understanding the coded works and passing the truth on to the next generation. Aureliano Babilonia, the only of his relatives who listened to his account of the massacre, also had contact with Melquiades, who set the man on a tragic path that ended with the death of his baby by ants. Babilonia was finally able to decipher one of Melquiades’ works that detailed all of his deadly machinations with the Buendia family.

The Encyclopedia of the Known Universe is not a political entity. We exist for the purpose of organizing information for easy consumption by interested beings of the universe. As such, it is necessary that we be honest about the nature of the work of an organization that has existed outside of the historical record, while also working to influence said record. We are presenting facts that will hopefully shed light on the motives of an organization that is actively telling a narrative of history that could prove fatal.

Choices have been made and now the heroes deal with the aftermath. But can anyone conceive of the consequences?

Ghostbusters (Limited Series): “John ceased to exist on the physical plane and he returned to a resting place, joining energies beyond the physical realm. He was next to the voice and she gloated.”

The consequences of the resurrection are bleeding across existence. How has it impacted the spirits of deceased humans? And it’s time to say goodbye to our favorite new hero as her first series of adventures comes to a close.

Family Ties (The Brave Chimutengwende Bk. 1): “Wendy is most excited to be reunited with her relatives. Great uncle has been there for her, but she missed Anesuishe most of all. Anesuishe was the first spirit that she encountered who explained herself as such and made Wendy realize that she was not fully aware of the world that she lived in and of her own powers and strengths.”

In his death, Darker achieved an extremely rarefied afterlife. His resurrection has been traumatic for him and apparently much of the matter in existence. See how the special realm that housed his soul in death has fared since he chose life.

Carolina Zombie Society (One-Shots): “Maria looks at Darker with sympathy. His return to life was kind of a soap opera and he didn’t seem like the kind of guy to have these types of problems. He is obviously tired, there are bags under his eyes. ”

Did you know that there is an Alia in Hell? Well, it’s not actually hell, but that’s the best way to describe the dark realm that is made up of the spaces in between the various universes. The resurrection has robbed Hell of its Alia and the demons are not happy.

Silas in Hell (Annual): “Hell is real and it was recently altered. It lost its Alia and many of its inhabitants.”

– – –

She has come a long way and she has survived a lot. She just has to deal with Yuri. He’s too comfortable and the Alia doesn’t have a ring on her finger.

Least Possible Future (Amazing Alia, the Alia Bk. *): “She doesn’t mind being alone, though she never is actually alone from the time she returns to North Carolina because Yuri has insisted on sleeping on Clay’s couch, but the absence of Ivan and Clay makes her worry.”

Even away from the drama of the crossover event, Ivan and Clay have had a tough time. In the last issue of book 2, Ivan tries to rise to the occasion, and realizes that he has more help than he could have hoped for.

Fusion (Diode Bk. 2): “Ivan does not feel fear and steps off of the property of Clay’s aunt Bernadette to face off with Desperation who is more dangerous than he has ever been. ”
