Do we know what a ghost is? The spirit of a deceased person stuck between life and death, the physical realm of the present and whatever other realm their soul would inhabit were it to depart this realm. Oftentimes these spirits get stuck in the spot of trauma, spots of great energy that are man made and powerful enough to trap the disembodied.
What is the energy of trauma? It has to be remnants of the activity in a given location, the emotional fall out of a horrible act that attracts latent energies that eventually snowball into a pit of despair, or wrath.
Ghosts, spirits, everything is energy. You and me, everything is energy in various states.
Fomorn and Mog, the half giant and his giant companion, loved one another so much, that when they were together, their energies raged brightly; Fomorn’s golden yellow and Mog’s dark blue, and like a beacon it was visible across many realms of existence. The energies of nature not visible to the normal eye took notice, as did the dark energies of the in between spaces, and the two left their combined energy signatures on Earth to bring power to the misunderstood, but harmonious love that might exist so that it could flourish and serve a people in need, just as the first Alia would have wanted.
Their friendship, their intimacy, their compatibility against the odds of their ever meeting, created an energy signature that was felt across many realms of existence and to some their light was abhorrent, though others were inspired and lent their power to them. Formorn and Mog became immortal in their mortal connection, as their physical bodies led lowly lives on Earth. They left a very powerful inheritance for posterity.
Mog was from a race of giants who had existed in the vicinity of modern day Ireland when the Earth had one continent. They looked like modern day humans by all appearances, but at least three times as tall, and they existed on Earth, on Pangaea in the various races of man that exist today. They worshipped the Earth and the magics that it gave them and they developed rites and rituals that allowed them to manipulate their bodies and the world around them.
This race of giants gave extraordinary abilities to the humans that they interacted with, but that is not to say that humanity does not have it’s own extraordinary abilities. If giants internalize energy to manipulate their bodies, then humanity it would seem, has the ability to direct the energies of the universe as evidenced by the abilities of the first Alia. The magic of the giants makes them beacons of energy, and the magic of humanity makes them conduits of energy.
It seems that any being of earth can be a conduit or beacon of energy with proper training, or with genetic predisposition because some humans have traces of giant ancestry, or some humans have physical compatibility to energy manipulation that is a stroke of fate.
Ssi had no genetic predisposition to energy manipulation. If he had studied under the Alia instead of battling her, he could have learned, but he was full of pride and determined to replicate her success.
The rip in existence that welcomed him in his bitterness was no accident. It was the result of a battle between two powerful giants when the Earth still had just one continent. They razed the Earth in their frustration with one another, and their final clash saw the two of them put all of their might into giant fists that they slammed together. When they met, energy exploded the two giants to nothing, and the very fabric of space and time buckled, leaving a rip in existence that led to a realm that no one could anticipate or imagine.
It was not a dark realm, but it had been ruined by a man driven mad by power and magic. This man reigns supreme and he welcomed Ssi when he heard his frustrations, and he pulled him into the desolate existence that was overcome by his magics that swirled in red chaos around him.
Ssi came to call the man of the red realm father because he gave Ssi a new life and birthed him back into the existence that he knew. Ssi called himself the Red Father when he used that energy because the man from the red realm would inhabit his body.
When Ssi returned to his people, he did not meet Mou in hostility, but he managed to cleave away a following of his own who followed him off into the desert to start a tribe in the vicinity of the rip in time and space.
They eventually went to war, when Mou learned that he was giving souls to the man from the red existence, and she locked him away from humanity, then did her best to seal the hole in space.
