True gods: 3. God Machines
There is a device that contains details of all time and existence from the start and as it marches forward. This device is a God Machine; its machinations are wondrous to all sentient beings of the universe, or it would be if its existence was widely known. These are the tales from the Aeternus.
Encyclopedia of the Known Universe Vol. I (excerpt 16 – appendix to “M” entry on mysteries)
There are things that occur throughout the universe that even the most advanced civilizations cannot explain. Eakran 15 of the planet Druont, also known as Dr. Thomas Eakran, marvels at the Earthling mind and Earthling physiology because he has seen the human mind and human body do things that no other being in the known universe seems to be capable of. It’s true that Earthling science is probably the least sophisticated in the universe, but they seem to have evolved into beings that can harness within their corporeal forms much of the technological advancements that other beings have achieved through science and mathematics. Take the Earthling mind reader for instance. On the planet Oin, the people have created what closely resembles the Earthling internet but it is hardwired into newborns so that all of the people of the planet can communicate instantly with a thought. The mind readers on Earth don’t need any special technology to make that a reality. There is a man who channels the energies of the planet Earth, he is literally a conduit of all physical energies that exist in the universe. On Druont, scientists have been working for centuries to unlock the natural power sources that exist in the natural world and they have made progress that allows them to power ships for interstellar travel. But they wouldn’t dream of extracting energies the way that the Earthling does.
According to the notes of Dr. Eakran, all of this seems to be achievable thanks to the Earthling brain that has developed uniquely on the planet Earth to be in tune with the natural world. Not all Earthlings are capable, but it appears to happen more often in Earthlings than any other sentient civilization. Maybe it is their primitive technology that forces them to develop such abilities. Or maybe their brains represent a technology that is beyond the realm of any advanced science.
The human mind, like the Aeternus Machina, the crowns of the Fhet Kings, is a God Machine. It allows for wondrous possibilities.

Recessing into one’s own inner consciousness can be a viable defense mechanism. Especially if the outside world is determined to beat you into nothing.
A Portrait of the Artist as a Black Man : “Maybe it isn’t God that causes bad things to happen. Maybe, because God gave man free will, all of the bad stuff is our fault and not his. Maybe God is working right now to deliver that poor girl from the evil she knows.”

Every place that we inhabit has been recognized over it’s history. Even the PRL headquarters used to belong to someone else.
Selections from Wes E.L.’s Dream Journal: “The two made good money and they decided that they would build a house to live in together. They bought land close to Winthrop University and they decided on a modest design because they had no children, and they could always find something bigger as their family grew. Their home was built in 1970.”

Conner Worthington is back, and he is his father’s worst nightmare: Completely ineffective and wrecking his house.
Made in America (Series 2 One-Shots): “Conner hasn’t eaten in months. He doesn’t experience hunger anymore; his stomach stopped growling and he doesn’t hear the wet noises that he is used to from his midsection. ”

lts the exciting conclusion! Clay and Desperation, the final showdown.
Love as Power (Diode Bk. 1): “The scar grows and bulges from Desperation’s cheek. Clay watches it, not sure how exactly it will change the man, but he remembers that Desperation is almost as strong as he is when that scar appears. Clay controls his breathing, taking air into his nose and out of his mouth. He focuses the energy in his body to his fists and his feet and he feels the muscles through his torso and legs return to normal size.”

Elroy is dead. Kevin wants him dead anyway. And he goes to extreme measures to make it happen.
Amazing Elroy (Amazing Elroy, The Magician Bk. 2): “This is his last straw. His attempt to get closer to reality all those years ago when he first left home, at only taken him further away from it. He didn’t resemble a normal man in any way. His life since he left home had been dictated by his ability and the consequences that that ability had thrust on him.”

We are at the end of a long journey that was all about connection and the circuitous paths we take to find it. Wes interrogates the blogger about her experience and she seems to be at peace with everything.
Romances and Mazes: “You enjoy writing don’t you? That’s why you’re talking to me now, because my story is interesting and you want to be the one to tell it. Well, what if I told you that tomorrow, no one would ever take you seriously? No matter how hard you try to say something that really reaches someone, no one will get it, and if they do, they won’t care. But I imagine that by now, writing is second nature for you, maybe you journal. So even if no one acknowledges what you do, you’re likely to keep doing it. It’s a part of you. This experience did happen to me, it’s continues to this day. It’s my reality. ”
