There is a device that contains details of all time and existence from the start and as it marches forward. This device is a God Machine; its machinations are wondrous to all sentient beings of the universe, or it would be if its existence was widely known. These are the tales from the Aeternus.

Approaching Eternity D (Solse and Joel in the Xx cont.)

Too much time passes and Solse is glued to the screen of the Aeternus. Joel is worried; if eris trajectory is correct, and eris math is never wrong, then they have less than an hour to make it off the asteroid before they are speeding into the unknown with no hope of going back. The trajectory of the asteroid they are on has always been strange to Joel, that is what caught his eye in the first place. It should not be capable of flying through the banned regions as it has been. Asteroids get caught up in the gravity of something much bigger than itself, and the asteroid that Joel and Solse inhabit should have fallen in line with all the others. But it defies that logic, as though it is being steered by a gravity specially made for it. Joel can estimate its speed and he knows where it is going, but the why continues to confound him. Maybe Solse’s optimistic thinking about his love that is light-years away is rubbing off on erim, but there is a small part of Joel that wants to see where this asteroid will take them. The longer they inhabit it, the more it seems to have a mind of its own. Though e knows that e should do what e can to tear Solse from the Aeternus and pack up for their next destination, e can’t help but to stare at the rapidly moving skyline and wonder if the two of them are being beckoned somewhere, to someone.

Whadgaf’s fate was sealed the day that she was abducted from the Jiris building. There was always just the one outcome.

Agent Red: “When Liuar sat with Whadgaf in her cell, the guards would look at him and whisper curses at the man who had sympathy for the murderer of his own family member. Liuar didn’t seem to mind that derision and he focused on consoling Whadgaf who was usually hysterical after panel interrogations.”

Suun and Seel are survivors, but how long can one resist the temptation of violence? Can they change the orhans before the orphans change them?

Druinte Social Society: “The couple is decidedly aggressive in their next effort at the games. Suun is reluctant at first watching eris partner punch and kick the orphans of other teams, but when e is struck on the face, something inside of erim finally unleashes and e fights back.”

A good leader knows when to pass the reins to the next in line. It’s better to cede the crown than suffer the embarrassment of losing in battle while welding it.

Fhet Kings (One-Shots): “After a year of exhausting battles, and growing fatigue that compromised Rine’s ability to properly yield the magics of his crown, he stood in his throne room with his Queen and his son, Sao-Reyne.”

Clay’s enemies have unleashed a monster who has his sights set on the love of his life. But Ivan isn’t in danger, this new threat is feeling amorous and nothing makes Clay more upset.

Love as Power (Diode Bk. 1): “The man that Daphne called for Laura, got the name Desperation because everyone who loved him thought he was in desperate need of help that only the good Lord could give him.”

Some people are just extraordinary, no matter how hard they try to suppress it. The Alia is one of those people and her extraordinary powers leads her to drastic measures.

Amazing Elroy (Amazing Elroy, The Magician Bk. 2): “Even though the Alia has sworn off her sun gazing to access possible futures, afraid that her meddling has consequences that she can’t fathom, she has other powers that aren’t easy to swear off. Like the mind reading.”

The love affair that spans the universe intensifies and Solse tells his love his truth.

Romances and Mazes:  “It would be the realization of all of my fantasies to be close to you. But sadly, that cannot happen. Not easily anyway. It’s not just a matter of the physical distance between us. Knowing that you want to see me is enough for me to bend the cosmos to make it happen. But even if I claw my way across the universe, I fear that there are still other things that might prevent our physical closeness.”
