There is a device that contains details of all time and existence from the start and as it marches forward. This device is a God Machine; its machinations are wondrous to all sentient beings of the universe, or it would be if its existence was widely known. These are the tales from the Aeternus.

Approaching Eternity 4 (Solse and Joel in the Xx cont.)

“We should just stay here, Joel.” Solse stares whimsically at the skyline of the asteroid. They have settled in on the moving ball covered in ice as it whizzes through the banned regions out toward oblivion. They both get lost in the beauty of the rapid moving view of faraway stars and they stay longer than either of them mean to. They don’t have anything to get back to. Solse is banned and Joel had taken an extended vacation from his duties on Druont, and they both relax inside their ship staring through a window. The Aeternus has been glowing in a cave to release it’s energy while Solse takes a break from his extensive review of the data collected so far. The device is a wonder, even with its reports of barren space that Solse imagines is just waiting for the activity that sentience can bring.

Whadgaf learns to make the best of a bad situation. I wish I had wings. I wonder if I would be afraid of heights if I had wings?

Agent Red: “Her meals at the Jiris building were always lavish buffets and she would pick and choose the delicacies that wet her beak from a smorgasbord of Hafjeran culinary delights. She never wondered where her next meal would come from. At the lair, Liuar forced her to catch her own food and to cook it herself.”

Why do we force our ideals onto others? If those others are happy and effective, why not leave well enough alone?

Druinte Social Society: “Though Falstraq partially opposes this official goal of the Hall of Orphans, e does believe that Druintes should dedicate themselves to the greater good. E does not agree that intimate relationships undermine the greater good, but rather than lodge protests at eris job, e works hard to give this truth to the Druinte orphans that e interacts with. Changing the minds of the greater population seemed impossible. ”

Wes asks you to JUSTIFY YOUR EXISTENCE. The ‘you’ in that sentence refers to the PRL contributors. You can do it too. Email the editor, he’d be glad to read it. Mark it “ok to print” to see your response here.

Selections from Wes E.L.’s Dream Journal: “I think that I am a sound man. I’m being thoughtful, excuse me if I wax incoherent, everything will soon find its meaning. ”

Have you ever been in love? It can change a man, make him do things unlike himself.

Love as Power (Diode Bk. 1): “Clay doesn’t feel like himself. He isn’t himself. He is a new man that loves Ivan and will do anything to persevere that relationship. Only, in this moment, he blinded by jealousy and he believes that the only impediment to his happiness is the man Sonny who has been with Ivan while Clay had missed him and been ignored.”

Ever wonder what it’s like to be the Alia? We got you covered.

Amazing Elroy (Amazing Elroy, The Magician Bk. 2): “Currently, in her backyard where she lives with Kevin in Wilmington, NC, Alia sees the two of them in a future where they have a large house in Waxhaw, NC and Kevin is the principal of the local school. Alia is pregnant with their fifth child, she has bad heartburn when she eats dairy, she teaches art at the local retirement home, and she drives a minivan to take the children to and from practices after school.”

It’s crazy to think that the things we put out into the universe could someday be answered. It’s even crazier to imagine that the things we put out into the universe could someday be answered by a being on the other side of the universe.

Romances and Mazes:  “I’m a simple girl, from a simple town, with a simple job; I’m really not a complicated person, so it’s strange that I’m even thinking about something like this, but I am. I am chin deep and feeling things that I should not.”
