We started Volume II more than a year ago, in the summer of 2015. I have to accept blame for the delays, but what does that matter right now? All that matters is that we have come to the end of another Volume of the Parallel Serials, home of big stories told in small pieces. I hope that you have enjoyed the stories. I hope they were worth the wait. And if not, I hope you will give us a look for Volume III; it might be more to your liking.
I’m kind of glad that we are finishing up now, as the year comes to a close. I won’t whine about how much it has sucked so far (it did), but I will say that I am happy to have survived it. I am a different man than I was at the start. I know so much more about myself (and so do the followers on my Google+ page) and I have grown a lot. Or, maybe I haven’t grown that much, but in one specific aspect of my life I have had to mature a lot because, well, I was pretty dumb about it (and still am honestly).
But enough about me. Please read and enjoy our stories. If you want to email us, feel free to shoot me a line (rdc2104@gmail.com) and I will be sure to holla back (‘cause I’m pretty ethnic).

Maria and Eakran, together in the IBF basement. You waited and waited for it, and now, here it is! And the ending will probably shock you a little bit.
Made in America (Series 1): “I said it early on that no man is a true individual, that we all have doppelgangers somewhere because genes can only configure themselves into so many different combinations that there is bound to be overlap. I want to reinforce that. Maria’s story is not unique. It may be new to you, or maybe you have heard it before, only it wasn’t a woman named Maria, it was a girl with a different name, looking for a different man or something other than a man, but motivated to answer a question that had dogged her for years. Her story belongs to others who know it intimately and recounting it can do a lot for their sanity. ”

Kevin has served his time and now the CIA has him violating people’s rights. He can’t stand for that.
The Magician (Amazing Elroy, The Magician Bk. 1): “You were right. It didn’t take them long to take advantage of my ability to violate people’s rights. And that’s not as bad as accidentally killing people, but it’s not great either. I really think it’s time to leave. And I want to take the mind reader with me.”

It all ends here. From the Empire state to the Volunteer state, all of the plotlines converge and you won’t belive who has the last laugh in the end.
Old Man Young and the Bronx Avenger: “Yeah, the system has problems, but it’s better than the system you live by. This ain’t the wild west or medieval times. In this society that we live in, men don’t have to have the blood of their enemies on their hands. You don’t have to avenge your friend and sacrifice your freedom.”

Thank Christ this is the last I have to hear from this D-bag in a while. Please tell me something bad happens to him this issue.
The Black Side of Paradise: “The man known as Leeland was happy to celebrate the completion of his first year at college. It would be best to celebrate with friends, but not everyone has those, especially not him, what with his pompous attitude and aptitude for dishing out backhanded compliments to his peers. It was a part of himself that he could barely control; he needed his peers to know that he was better than them and what better way to assert that than by openly mocking them and in turn rejecting the very idea of their kinship?”

Here we are, at the end, and the stalwart Rebel has done it. He can finally say with confidence that…
V.I.V is Real Part 11 and Part 12: “I do what I do because someone I love very much entrusted this project to me. I’ve only been the VIV of This and Other Things for about 5 years now. I love to write, I love my job, but working for a large paper isn’t the same as covering local stories the way I get to in that newsletter. And it’s not a labor at all to produce as much as I manage to. I get help every now and then from locals. It means more to me than my job to be honest. And meeting you now, talking to you is icing on a cake that I didn’t even need. Your appreciation for this work makes it all worth it.”
