Issue 6, Vol. II – October 7, 2016 (Halloween Special Vol. II)

Time to Read:

4–6 minutes

So, this is awkward. Maybe you can sympathize with my recent tragedies and will cut me some slack, just be happy that the Serials have finally returned and you get to enjoy some long awaited continuations. Or maybe you’re not nice and you think I’m weak for allowing something to derail the hard work of three dedicated artists working in such a nice accord that they could be one man. I get it, but I’m not going to dwell on it. We are back, and you are in for a treat folks. It’s October and we here at the PRL are excited to not only finish up Volume II, but to also present some creepy Halloween stories that we started a couple years ago. There’s a preview in this issue of what’s to come with that, but we are back to the main event folks. I know you were waiting for it, I was just building up the anticipation (or something).

There’s been so much happening that I want to comment about but I’ll save it because I have to get to work on Issue 7. But please enjoy and look for the next issue very soon.

Maria and the Alia, face to face at last. Someone open a window. (Oh, we can’t? They’re in a basement?) Well someone get me a change of underpants.

Made in America (Series 1): “Giovanni returns shortly after with Alia walking slowly behind him. She is smiling when she sees Maria, like she is seeing an old friend after a long time. When she sits, she grabs Maria’s hands.”

Kevin may have sold out and contracted his ability to the man, but that doesn’t mean that he is a push over. Watch as the Amazing Elroy annoys his superiors and the first test of his long range abilities presents itself.

The Magician (Amazing Elroy, The Magician Bk. 1): “Your code name for this operation is backward. These radicalized individuals are the ones chasing Dummy Men. Sure it can be argued that they have a diminished intellectual capacity that leaves them susceptible to manipulation, but they are the ones scapegoating innocent people, stripping their victims of their humanity to the point that they can kill their dummies with no remorse.”

We know Ivan pretty well by now. He is still full of mysteries, though. Like how did he get from his love story in NC to TN where he is apparently investigating murders? The man never ceases to amaze.

Old Man Young and the Bronx Avenger: “Detective Young sees Ivan as a future member of the Knoxville Police Department, despite Ivan’s repeated insistence that he is not interested in carrying a gun. It’s not just Ivan’s imposing figure, but also his gentle nature that he imagines would be excellent for de-escalating conflicts that spring up. To Young, Ivan was the perfect candidate to be a police officer; physically capable of holding his own and reluctant to use deadly force, qualities that seemed to be lacking in some departments around the country. ”

The story keeps on moving as Rebel Max goes looking for answers on the west side. And we move slowly forward as the man, the myth, the legend, Rebel Max, seeks to prove once and for all that…

V.I.V is Real: “In the nineties, Mr. Baucom bought the building that today is the Kid Zone after school program. He is well known for owning multiple car dealerships in Ladoga and had donated a considerable amount of money to the building of the community center in east Ladoga. He is white, but had grown up on the east side in the seventies, before his father struck gold selling used cars. As soon as he’d earned enough, he moved his family to the nicest house on the west side, before he got even richer and moved the family to a nice mansion in Crowder Estates. ”

It’s the return of Clay! What is he up to now that Ivan is a state away playing detective? Keep reading to find out!

Diode (One-Shots):  “Despite the respect he’d earned for dealing with the man that was a nuisance to the civil elements of his neighborhood, Clay was unable to revel in it. The world had lost its color and nothing seemed to excite him anymore.”

The dark tale continues and Silas has a warning for everyone who reads him. There is something very dark coming for us and he knows how to stop it. But will his warning be enough?

Silas in Hell: “Hello, I am Silas. The simple man who is made of money. The man who shook off the dust of his past to make something of himself and was determined to make a life that I had glimpsed in magazines. I am a black man, let me get that out of the way. I say that so you can see me, not because it is important; my bank accounts (yes, I have more than one) and credit score have essentially erased my blackness to anyone who matters. ”
