XII. (the sprawl)
Emma’s work has an intimate connection to the news stories that affect her friends and loved ones and that connection will continue through the rest of her very long career; spoiler alert, Emma creates art into her nineties, and by that time she will be known for thought provoking collages of pictures and other print media that are long obsolete. She will be one of the few artists still working in a tangible medium by that time, which will only endear her to art fans for generations to come. Her most well known work will be a mural sized collage that will be assembled from a series of smaller works that tells the history of the US from the date of her birth until just weeks before the work opens to the public, and Emma will stand proudly while she is photographed with her children, and grandchildren, and even one great grandchild.
