Stone Hand has a strict schedule
of meetings and speaking engagements
Running from east and west sides
ducking in and out of cabs and limousines
Stone Hand’s day is long-going,
Seemingly infinitely long.
Stone Hand merely adopts heroic airs,
he is just stone-man when smoke clears
And his head bobs as he fights fatigue
like every other fallible man he may rule
Stone Hand nods away in a meet and greet,
then ingratiates himself to the public;
“Its been a long one;” flashes the smile,
the pristine skin like buffed marble
in a lime light
Stone Hand wins the day in NC’s 12th
and despite his sincerest efforts
He head-bobs his first committee meeting
then voices support for drastically downsizing
foreign aid; to cover for his inattention
and despite the need he knows exists
Stone Hand does it multiple times;
for the concealment of the chemicals used to frack
and against a carbon tax
And the hand that bore Stone Hand,
Who stepped in as campaign manager,
Pats himself on the back
“Stone Hand misses pleas for rationality
From constituents because he dozes”
