Today would have been my grandmother’s birthday; she died on December 21, 2012, what was supposed to be last day of existence according the Mayan calendar. In a way, for my family, the Mayans had it right. My grandmother was the matriarch of my family. She lived a very long life and over that time she saw a lot things, and gave rise to a healthy lineage that only gets bigger every year. She was an amazing woman and I would not be the man that I am today if not for her. RIP Esther Mae Nixon.
The PRL archives are updated, Issue 8 is on the books, and we officially have 4 Issues left in Volume I. I’ve been dropping hints about what happens after Volume I is done (PRL Vol. I Remix!!!!), but I have to say it will be bittersweet. Volume I has been a very special learning experience for Wesley, Maxwell, and myself and we hope that some of the serials found an audience. Volume II will be titled Made in America and we are always looking for new work to fill out each issue. Email the editor if you are interested, but keep in mind that a PRL contributor not only showcases their own projects, but contributes in some way (either as a writer or developer) to a PRL Signature Series.
Issue 9 will debut on September 1, 2014. We won’t take two weeks off this time because I think everyone is excited to see how the serials of Vol. I come to an end. We should be wrapping up just as the summer comes to an end, and all the good TV shows start. So stay tuned folks and get ready for the exciting PRL Volume I conclusion in September!
PS: I really liked The Origins of Magic and I think everyone should check it out. Its only 3 parts and it’s a fine introduction to PRL Heroes and Cosmos. So check it out and if you like it, you might want to check out the Made in America One-Shots.
