He looks upon undone
as potential
when consumed there is propulsion
or conversion of energy
in two directions
advancement for the man, the teacher
and his pupil
teaching is the exchange of energies
initiated by the teacher
and accepted, sometimes after
being sought, by the pupil
sometimes there is reluctance
from the pupil
who cannot comprehend
an application
or maybe he, the pupil,
is too proud to admit deficiency
and a need for the teacher’s direction
the man, the teacher,
refuses excuses
because he is driven
to his tantamount
and is aware that ascension
comes with the trials
of both experiencing and sparking
enlightenment
A teacher’s hand is often invisible
but his ripple is resilient
