IV. (Interlude – transportassault)
Two weeks from today, Emma will set to work with her images of Susie after her late shift at the movie theater where she operated the ancient projector. She liked that she knew how to operate something that looked older than the theater itself and she was always happy to be in the projection room, watching black and white movies high over the audience below.
Susie’s face will be placed over the mirror of four different rear-view mirror fixtures attached to heavy wooden model trucks that are smaller than the fixtures, but heavy enough not to tip over once the fixtures are attached. Her face will appear to be in the trucks’ rear-view mirrors, and each truck will get a different Susie face. The trucks will be placed sporadically on a flat table top that contains a model of a road scaled to the size of the trucks. The trucks will appear to be driving in the same direction, and behind them, at the edge of the table, will be a sad Susie doll made of cloth and slumped on its side.
