I hope you’re enjoying the first issue of the PRL! Issue 2 is slowly coming together. I thought I’d take this opportunity to introduce you to the staff of this periodical that is a cross between a TV studio and a comic book publisher.
Wesley Livingston, I call him Wes, is a writer who lives in Asheville, NC. He loves the mountains and the leaves, and his favorite past-time is sitting alone in his backyard with his tablet, reading the news and getting into arguments with strangers in the comment sections of various political websites. Wes is married, his wife, Valeria Zapata, is a physicist at the PARI in Rosman, NC. Wes is a father of two daughters who live in Washington, DC with his ex-wife. Wes contributes as a writer and developer to PRL Cosmos stories.
Maxwell “Rebel Max” Roberson is a paralegal in downtown Charlotte, NC by day, and when he is not with his family, his longtime girlfriend Mary and their son Zach, or in Ladoga, NC where he was born and where most of his extended family lives, he is writing stories about Ladoga. Rebel Max says that he got his nickname from a good friend that he met while doing research in Ladoga. “I have strong opinions, I guess,” he likes to say, but I think its just a play on his government name. Max contributes as a developer to PRL Heroes stories and as a writer and developer to the PRL Legacy Series.
My name is Roy Cureton and I am also a paralegal in Charlotte, NC by day. I like to mole around the world, pop up in places to take in the sights, and then move somewhere else to do it all over again. The Parallel Serials was my idea. I wanted to create a place to showcase some of the fiction that I’ve been working on. I’m the “editor” of this endeavor so any mistakes should be attributed to me and not the excellent contributors who so graciously lend their work to the publication. I have plans to create a PDF version of each issue, but maybe that won’t happen until Volume 2, or maybe later issues of Volume 1. I contribute as writer and developer to everything on the site and the Volume 1 run of PRL Poetry’s Stone Hand (leaders and Leadership) is all me.
The PRL Heroes signature denotes stories that take place in the world of It Exists, starring the man who can turn nothing into anything he can imagine.
The PRL Cosmos signature denotes stories that take place in the world of Made in America, the world introduced by the Maria One-Shot.
The PRL Legacy Series signature denotes epic stories that will recur in multiple volumes of the PRL with no end in sight.
